Let's speak to one now, Danika, who joins us this morning on GB News Breakfast
0:04
Very good morning to you, Danika. How are these strikes affecting you
0:11
Basically, it's quite scary. I'm one of them in a position amongst a lot of others
0:21
whose life basically lies in the balance of doctors, surgeons, etc um um it's it's it at the moment it's like suffering you have to suffer your
0:39
symptoms which are kind of minor at the moment like it's supposed to be minor what they would
0:45
consider as minor conditions or minor symptoms well because of all this backlog
0:54
the waiting time for even a scan like an MRI let alone a procedure to be done it's it is really
1:07
scary to be waiting because these these conditions can end up being life-threatening basically
1:14
the impacts a lot with your family your finances you know it's emotional it's stressful
1:23
I believe, you know, it would just prevent a lot if these strikes weren't happening maybe
1:33
of all the backlog that's already happened from the COVID. It getting really really really bad Well Danika what is your opinion then of these junior doctors who have decided that they going to go out and strike not that long after they were given a very significant pay rise
1:57
Wow. I think we would all like, you know, pay rise and all works that we all do and have, you know, part in doing
2:09
And it's, especially if there's a pay rise, it would be nice to start getting looked at as patients seriously and listened to
2:22
As it stands, as I said, it's really daunting and quite scary
2:26
The fact that there aren't any, in my experience, I've not long been discharged from hospital
2:34
To me, they seem like, I call them nurse doctors. they didn't seem as trained or experienced or even compassionate as what I'm like used to like
2:49
years ago um they seem to just want to get you in and get you out um or just allow you to wait
2:58
for answers you ask and you cannot find out exactly what next step you're going to
3:04
so basically you get sent home you're either in hospital with no answers or you're at home with
3:11
no answers it's not very nice either way to be honest it's really it's good it's not Danika
3:18
well we wish you better and we really hope you get seen soon and we really hope that you're given a
3:23
surgery date as soon as possible thank you so much for joining us this morning and for sharing
3:27
your story thank you Danika
