I'm joined now by Richard Tice

He is, of course, the deputy leader of reform. Richard, thank you for talking to us on GB News

This is pretty hardcore and very radical. Do you think you can really deliver on all these promises you've made
0:18
Because they're going to be very difficult to implement, aren't they? Yes, actually, you say it's hardcore
0:23
It's common sense. A nation should protect its borders. A nation should know who is coming here
0:28
and it should only welcome those that have come here legally. So those who've come here illegally should not expect
0:33
to be given lots of hospitality and benefits and they should not expect to stay here
0:39
So it's basic common sense that the British people have wanted from governments historically who've completely failed to deliver
0:47
and who've lied and misled about legal immigration and illegal immigration. And yes, so we've said that we will leave the European Convention
0:55
on Human Rights, We will scrap the ridiculous Human Rights Act that's just been a gravy train for the lefty human rights lawyers
1:03
We will derogate from the UN51 Convention and other treaties for five years
1:08
in order to ensure that we can detain and deport anybody who comes here illegally
1:17
And so they will be detained. Those who've already got here illegally, they will be given a six-month offer
1:24
Either voluntarily go of your own volition with a free flight and a couple of thousand quid
1:32
Otherwise, you know the date on which you will be detained and deported
1:38
That's the reality. It's what the British people want. We been very clear that we will protect our borders defend our sovereignty and defend British women and girls who are sadly those who are most at risk from some of the criminality
1:57
from some of those who've come here illegally. And realistically, assuming you form the next government
2:04
how quickly would this happen? Because it would take time to build these detention centres
2:08
It would take quite a bit of time, presumably, to withdraw from all these international treaties
2:14
Well, we will be getting legislation ready in draft form using our own lawyers and barristers, not the civil servants
2:20
way before the election so that we are ready. And if we get a decent majority, and that's what we're saying to people
2:25
give us the mandate, give us a big majority so we can get this through the Houses of Parliament rapidly
2:32
and we'll work harder and faster than anybody else. And we do have a track record of being able to get stuff done
2:37
because we come from the world of business and we are doers
2:41
We're not wafflers. So, yes, it'll take a bit of time. Everybody will know that we mean business and we will get on with it
2:48
And we think that will have a massive deterrent effect. And people should be under no illusion whatsoever
2:55
When Nigel says, as leader of reform and as our future prime minister
3:01
that he is absolutely determined to drive this through, no ifs, no buts, that will happen
3:08
and we will all work our socks off 24-7 to ensure it does
3:13
Four years till the next election. Maximum. It's actually maximum three and three quarters
3:18
And given the state of the 30-year bond market, the crisis of the £50 billion black volcano
3:25
that Rachel Reeves has dug for herself and for this country, whether it lasts that long, who knows
3:31
Black volcano, that's a new phrase describing the government's fiscal black hole
3:36
