The GB News Advent Calendar. Day 15
0:05
Hello, I'm Micah, vicar in the Church of England. At Christmas we often hear of those poor souls who simply left it too late
0:13
It's Christmas Eve, Amazon won't deliver on time, and so there they are charging through the high street looking for thoughtful gifts
0:21
But there's no time to think. And so they fall back on the Marks and Spencer socks and the Lynx gift sets
0:28
laziness perhaps but more likely just very busy with other stuff because that's the thing about
0:37
life it's very busy but if we want to do Christmas well we have to prepare your turkey your presents
0:45
your Christmas tree all of them require forward planning. Advent in the church's calendar is a
0:53
season of preparation. Yes, for Christmas, but more profoundly, preparation for the day when
1:01
Jesus comes again. See, the Bible says that Christ came once in great humility
1:07
but very soon he will come in glory to decide the outcome of our lives
1:15
The question is, have we prepared for that? If we don't prepare for Christmas
1:22
we risk missing the joy that could be ours. Likewise with Jesus, Advent is an invitation to prepare for eternity
