today we're going to be going up the
0:03
working progress of The Shard in London
0:07
near London Bridge which is the highest
0:11
observation platform in Europe it's the
0:14
tallest building in London it's called
0:16
The Shard as you can tell by the shape
0:19
it's a beautiful glass building still
0:22
been constructed ex place opens in
0:25
February
0:28
2013 and so this then
0:31
is another view of the chart from the
0:34
main
0:34
entrance beautiful blue glass
0:38
building
0:40
soing and the tower is right there
0:45
and so we're about to go into the main
0:48
entrance and expl so this is The Shard
0:52
which is soon to be the biggest new
0:55
attraction on the London Skyline it's
0:58
the tallest building in London
1:01
it has an observation tower right up at
1:03
the top highest in Europe This is
1:07
downstairs in reception and we're on a
1:10
pre- launch trip that only launches in
1:13
February
1:19

1:28
2013 for
1:55
[Music]
2:08
interested
2:11
inew The Shard on level 68 which the vi
2:17
platform is one further above on level
2:19
72 level 68 which is the enclosed area
2:22
where you do get incredible views across
2:25
behind me at the moment we're looking
2:27
down the TS heading towards
2:53
SP or days a
2:55
year you take a look behind me you can
2:57
see how people can stand right at up
3:00
close to the windows peer down the 68
3:03
floors if you wish there's also some
3:06
interactive uh units where you can see
3:08
what you're looking at uh and interact
3:10
to tell especially if it's a bad day
3:12
they have pre-recorded views of what you
3:14
can actually see but you do and are able
3:17
to see for up to 40 miles so behind me
3:20
you're actually looking 40 mil across
3:22
London and on the clear that day like
3:24
today you get an incredible
3:26
view down there beautiful view that's
3:30
the view in real time so this is live
3:34
but if there's you got a bit of direct
3:36
Sunshine s in this
3:38
direction other things that's very
3:39
interesting is these interactive uh
3:42
display units so for example you take a
3:44
look at the live so as you can see what
3:47
I'm doing now is of zooming in on things
3:50
that are happening but also what's very
3:52
clever is you can then take a look at
3:53
the day view so that's what you would
3:55
see during the day or you can take look
3:57
at what it would be at night so whatever
3:59
you're look at as you can see there as
4:00
you move it you can see what that would
4:02
look like at night what it should be
4:04
looking like in the day so particularly
4:06
if it's a b you and of course what we're
4:07
looking at live so that's something
4:09
that's kind of really interesting uh
4:11
particularly if it's on a lousy lousy
4:16
day it's a relatively expensive
4:18
attraction about £24 for an adult about
4:20
£18 for a child but it is going to be
4:22
well well worth it uh on a clear day
4:25
like today you can see 40 m away so over
4:28
my shoulder there you should be able to
4:29
see kind of 40 m away and you can walk
4:31
all the way around so you can see North
4:33
London South London West London a bit
4:36
hazy like in the distance like it is
4:37
today you can switch into a pre-recorded
4:39
perfect Clear Day view so you can see
4:41
absolutely everything um and if you
4:42
visit during the day you can also quick
4:44
click into a night view so you can see
4:46
what the city looks like huge amount of
4:47
space very beautifully done and really
4:50
really quite impressive
