How To Prevent Bolting? Why Do Plants Bolt In The Heat? | Gardening in Canada
Apr 28, 2022
This Gardening In Canada video looks at how to prevent plants from bolting. Some plants are more likely to bolt then others. This is even more true when it comes to plants that typically grow and reproduce in warmer climates. When we grow these crops in colder areas we hold back the life cycle of bolting. This means we can stop the inevitable growing process, that causes bitter leaves. The number once thing that needs to be taken into consideration is the soil temperature. Keeping the soil temperature low with shade cloth and watering is the best method to prevent the bolting process.
