Brooklyn man charged in $16M crypto scam posing as Coinbase rep: FULL PRESS CONFERENCE

Prosecutors say a 23-year-old Brooklyn man posed as a Coinbase representative and used phishing and social engineering tactics to steal nearly $16 million from about 100 victims nationwide, convincing users their accounts were hacked before draining their cryptocurrency. More than $500,000 in alleged stolen funds has been recovered so far.
