Apple Pie Recipe Ingredients: 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour 1 tsp salt 1 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed 6-7 tbsp ice water 6-7 medium apples (Granny Smith, Honey crisp, or a mix) ¾ cup sugar 1 tsp ground cinnamon ¼ tsp ground nutmeg 1 tbsp lemon juice 1 tbsp cornstarch 1 egg (for egg wash) Instructions: Make the pie crust: In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add cubed butter and mix with a pastry cutter or fork until crumbly. Gradually add ice water, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough holds together. Divide the dough in half, shape into disks, wrap in plastic wrap, and chill for at least 1 hour. Prepare the filling: Peel, core, and slice the apples into thin slices. In a large bowl, combine apples, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Toss to coat the apples evenly.
