Donald Trump 'pissed off' at Putin's comments calling for removal of Zelensky

It is a recorded phone conversation that has not been played out, but has been directly quoted by NBC and their reporter, Kristen Welker, who's also the presenter of Meet the Press, the Sunday show on NBC

So speaking as a journalist, he quite often is on these kind of calls, you tend to record them so that you can quote them directly

But that recording might not be for broadcast. So we haven't heard directly from Trump, but we have had the direct quotes from that, where Donald Trump said he was, quote

angry and pissed off of Vladimir Putin. I'm going to say the word. So apologies if that offended anybody, but that is the words of the U.S. President

Now, he's urging Vladimir Putin to reach a peace deal that the U.S. is brokering between Ukraine and Russia

Now, of course, the U.S. reached a deal, a maritime ceasefire deal, which also aimed to end attacks on energy facilities

But the attacks widespread more across the country have indeed been continuing

Now Trump is said to have been enraged over Putin recent suggestions that Zelensky should be removed and a temporary UN administration be installed to hold what Vladimir Putin called democratic elections perhaps a twist of irony given that that coming from the Russians Well Zelensky term did indeed expire recently but the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022

makes it unconstitutional for the country to hold elections whilst in a war

And that, of course, has been used against Zelensky by Trump himself, who's called Zelensky

a dictator without elections before berating him in the Oval Office in that infamous exchange now

just a couple of weeks ago in front of the world's press. But Trump now is once again tempering criticism

and trying to keep people on their toes in this phone call with Kristen Welker. He said

if Russia and I are unable to make a deal on stopping the bloodshed in Ukraine

and if I think it was Russia's fault, which it might not be

I'm going to put secondary tariffs on all oil coming out of Russia

So of course, Donald Trump there not, again, fully saying that Russia was to blame

for the ceasefire, not taking hold. But of course, meanwhile, this goes on. The fighting continues. We've heard

of hundreds of Russian drones attacking the pro-Summi-Harkiv regions and more in the last couple of

days and increased casualties as well
