A British monitoring agency says three ships in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz were struck in separate incidents on March 11, a day after several US media reported Iran had started laying mines in the strategic passagepoint. The UN meanwhile has urged for 'humanitarian exemptions' to get aid through the Strait.
