Saint Catherine's Day: a medieval tradition turned haute couture ritual

Why do French haute couture employees celebrate the 25th of November wearing fancy hats? The origins of this tradition date all the way back to the Middle Ages, and are linked to the patron saint of unwed women Saint Catherine.  And in case you’re wondering why all the hats are yellow and green: yellow represented faith and green hope… to find a husband!
