Five detained after alleged assassination attempt on Ecuador's Noboa

Ecuadorean President Daniel Noboa’s car was surrounded by about 500 protesters hurling rocks as he arrived for an event in Canar province, a minister said on Tuesday, adding there were “signs of bullet damage” on the vehicle. Noboa was unharmed and five people were detained, the minister added. Ellen Gainsford reports.
