Exiled Maduro opponent vows to return to Venezuela and slams interim leader

Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado said on January 6 she plans to return home "as soon as possible," and rejected the authority of the interim president who has replaced Nicolas Maduro in Caracas in an interview to US broadcaster Fox News. US President Donald Trump, however, has downplayed the possibility of Machado coming to power, saying she did not command the "respect" to run the country.
