Amnesty accuses Iran of crimes against humanity

Amnesty International has accused Iranian authorities of committing crimes against humanity during the 2022 Woman, Life, Freedom crackdown, saying more than 500 people, including 71 children, were killed and that the violence disproportionately targeted Kurdish and Baluchi communities. The rights group is urging the UN General Assembly to create an international justice mechanism, arguing that many of the officials it identified remain in positions of power.
