A long-lost Rubens painting depicting Crucifixion sells for $2.7 million

A long-lost painting by baroque master Peter Paul Rubens, hidden for over 400 years and recently discovered in a Paris townhouse, sold for 2.3 million euros ($2.7 million) at a Versailles auction. Depicting the crucifixion of Christ, it had long been mistaken for a work from a Rubens workshop and was previously valued at no more than 10,000 euros.
