Hello friends, welcome back to the channel. So I've got a bit of an impromptu video for you today
0:05
I haven't really prepared a script. The light is streaming in, it's terrible, but what I have got
0:09
is 10 black rose shrimp and my new neon blue crayfish. Now I'm really pleased. I thought for
0:18
once I would film an unboxing. I don't really do unboxings, the truth be told. However, I'm a little
0:24
bit concerned about these. They've arrived today, they've arrived quickly. I ordered them yesterday
0:27
and they've arrived within about 18-20 hours. Really pleased about that. But the packaging is so poor, I have no idea what we're going to find
0:36
As many of you will know, my wife and I have shipped out hundreds and hundreds of boxes of shrimp over the years
0:43
And the way we always package them up is a sturdy cardboard box rammed full of shredded paper
0:49
with the shrimp in a breather bag in the middle, completely surrounded, and then the whole box is taped up
0:55
The great thing about that system is you can shake it, drop it, kick it, bang it, squeeze it
1:00
The shrimp are absolutely fine. These, let me show you. So first off, they've been transported just in this polythene bag
1:13
And inside here is what feels like a plastic tub wrapped in newspaper
1:22
And again, another one the same. not not marvelous so I going to open these up live for you here let see what we got obviously I don know whether there nothing to indicate whether this is the neon blue crayfish or the black rose shrimp So let have a look
1:45
Okay, might not be as bad as I thought. Let me just tear into this
1:52
Okay, so inside here, I can feel water sloshing around. This is a little takeaway container
2:00
Peel the lid off of that. Okay, so far so good. Some instructions there
2:08
Let's have a look. Now this feels a little bit damp, but that's not necessarily the end of the world
2:14
Let's see what we've got. We've got a bag, and okay. So that's our 10 black rose neocaridina shrimp
2:27
A little bit bluer than I would like, but that's okay. They've got a small piece of net to hold on to
2:34
All looks pretty well. Not the end of the world. Right, that's good news. I'll be honest with you
2:40
I was expecting that to be a disaster. Let's open up the other tub and see what we've got
2:44
Hopefully, our neon-bloom crayfish will be in here. And he, I'm calling him he, I have no idea if he's going to be a he or a she
2:56
Now let's have a look. Okay so another small plastic tub, a little instruction book at the bottom which is actually good
3:07
Okay this one taped shut So I think it taped shut because the bag is just bulging slightly but there you go We rip that open
3:18
Again, this paper's a little bit wet. It's quite a bit wetter than the last one, but let's have a look what we've got
3:28
I'm hoping... Here we go. Oh, look. Oh, fabulous. I'm hoping he's much bigger than I expected him to be. I'm hoping you can
3:41
that is coming out on camera there. Well from an unpromising start I'm actually quite pleased. Let's work on
3:56
getting these guys in the tank. Okay so truth be told I don't have a great way
4:02
to film this process. So I've kind of rigged this small tub up beneath the
4:06
camera and what I'm gonna do, so I'm gonna take our little man here and open
4:13
this bag, in fact he's double bagged which is good news. I'm gonna snip the
4:19
top off of this. He's got some polyfill in there or something similar for him to hold on to
4:28
it's always sitting here go let's take that polyfill let him go well done
4:40
okay there we go he seems happy enough so quick okay look a bit jumpy and they sorry about the terrible reflection from the
4:57
from the lights there is our new neon blue crayfish Thank you
