The desire to have a dog raises many questions, starting with the breed of the dog and ending with the conditions in which it is kept. If you have decided to get an Alabai, then, before you finally decide, you need to learn about its positive and negative sides to avoid problems in the future.
Alabai or Central Asian shepherd dog is a real wolfhound among his relatives: the height of the male dog at the withers is on average 75 centimeters, and the weight is 80 kilograms. The body of the dog, for all its dimensions, is well-proportioned and harmonious. The development of the breed for thousands of years has formed a voluminous musculature, strong jaw, heavy paws and freedom-loving nature of the Alabai. Despite such description, these dogs are not so much intimidating as they are delightful with their toughness and confident look.
This breed is distinguished by its fighting qualities, so the peoples of Asia use it for guarding livestock and hunting. In other countries, including Russia, Alabai is often involved in guarding and guard duty. With the proper approach to education, the dog will be an excellent friend and protector.
The main colors are red, tiger, gray, black, and pale. Brown and blue fur is not listed by breeders.
