Psychologists have been studying for decades and they identified several ways of being a parent. The most famous theory, published by the developmental psychologist Diana Baumrind in 1967 defines the 4 following parenting styles: Authoritarian, Authoritative, Permissive, and Uninvolved/neglectful parenting.
