Hey ladies and gentlemen, this is Carmine Sabia for Explain America on YouTube and Jack

Smith is really stepping in it this time folks, and he might have just ruined his own case

Those little things really help us out and they help this channel continue to grow even
0:19
as, you know, the powers that be try to suppress conservative voices
0:24
You guys make it happen and we love you for it. So as Jonathan Turley was explaining on Fox News, Jack Smith made a particularly, in his
0:33
opinion, big error in his latest move and it could cost him his entire case and it could
0:39
blow up the Georgia case as well. And as Turley said, this is all based on his obsession, his obsession to put Trump behind
0:48
bars before the November election. Let's take a listen to what Jonathan Turley had to say
0:53
Jonathan Turley, constitutional law attorney and a Fox News contributor. Professor Turley, I want to ask you about Hunter in just a second, but first of all
1:01
to this action that Jack Smith, the special counsel took earlier today, filing a petition
1:06
with the Supreme Court to determine whether or not Donald Trump has immunity from prosecution
1:11
He's trying to keep his case on track for a March start, which is just a couple of days
1:16
before super Tuesday. What's what's your read of all of this? Well, it's not that this has never been attempted before, but it is not the regular order of
1:28
things he Smith had just filed or this matter was just filed before the D.C. Circuit
1:36
And then he decided that he wanted to leapfrog over the court of appeals and go directly
1:40
to the Supreme Court. The only reason for that is that he is really focused entirely on trying Trump during this
1:48
campaign and in trying to convict him before the election. The question about the Supreme Court is going to feel that that is such an urgent priority
1:58
that you actually bring this case before super Tuesday. Usually the Supreme Court likes to hear from multiple court of appeals
2:07
They certainly want normally to hear from at least one on these issues
2:11
And so they may not have the same sense of priority as Smith, who seems almost obsessed
2:18
with trying Trump before the election. Is there any other reason other than politics to want to do that
2:25
Well, there's a tactical reason if Trump wins, he can pardon himself and then Smith will
2:31
never see a jury in this case. I mean, so if Trump does prevail in the election, if he's not convicted at that point, he can
2:40
give himself a preemptory pardon. He doesn't have to wait for the trial
2:45
I tend to agree with him. I think Smith is obsessed. I think this whole thing is a ruse
2:51
It's nonsense. It should have never been brought to begin with. I think he does have presidential immunity
2:56
I think the Supreme Court is going to smack him down and I think he deserves it
3:00
I want to know what you guys think about it. So please let me know in the comments
