Maria Bartiromo Tears Into Top Republican Speaker Candidate - Mayhem Ensues

Hey ladies and gentlemen, this is Carmine Sabia for Explain America and Maria Bartiromo

went ballistic on a very popular Republican as the set of her show just went haywire during

an interview segment earlier today talking about the race for Speaker of the House

She had one of the candidates on and it got really intense

That also really helps us out. So Maria Bartiromo was interviewing Steve Scalise, a very popular Republican, probably

somebody you like, definitely somebody I like. There's a race between him and Jim Jordan right now for Speaker

I think both men are great. I think either one would make an excellent Speaker and I don't think we need to take

sides here and say one is evil and the other one is good

They're both great Republicans. They're both great conservatives. Well, Maria Bartiromo wanted to know where Scalise stood on aid to Ukraine and aid to Israel

Now I have my own philosophies on this. I think aid to Israel, who has been a staunch ally and who has been a partner and who has

benefited us many times with tipping us off about possible terrorist attacks before they

happened, they deserve our help and our support and our money. Ukraine has not really been a valuable partner

They've been a leech that has continuously taken from us and not given us anything that

I can think of. So they're not the same beast. Be that as it may, Maria Bartiromo got very angry with Scalise because she said he wasn't

answering the question. Let's take a look at it. Do you have ideas in terms of getting the numbers down

You've got now 39 days left to get the remaining appropriations bills passed

Will you be able to do it? And at what price? Yeah, and I want to get right back to work on the appropriations bills

We had passed three of those right before everything happened with the speaker's race

And now let's get back to moving more appropriations bills. We had a few teed up ready to go

We are over 70 percent of funding of government out of the House

Senate hasn't done zero. We're going to be in the 80s when I'm finished my first week as speaker

The members are ready to get back to that work. Let's keep passing all of the appropriations bills

By the way, that's something you haven't seen Congress do in a long time. And I think we need to get back to that as a normal process, not a unique time where

Congress is actually appropriating bill by bill, not in big packages, no omnibuses, no

midnight hour deals, all these shot clocks and deadlines that get missed

Let's get back to doing our work on a normal process. But we're going to get back to that day one as well when I'm elected speaker

Well, I understand. But the truth is, is with all due respect, Congressman, you're not answering any questions

Do you endorse sending money to Israel in an emergency package? Do you endorse sending the twenty four billion dollars the president Biden is asking to Ukraine

Are you going to manage bills? Maria, I just told you. As you asked me, I just told you I spoke with Ambassador Dermer yesterday about very specific

things that Israel needs. Some, by the way, are in the what's called the S OPS bill, state foreign ops bill that

we just passed out of the House, the defense appropriations bill that we just passed out

of the House. That's real money in pieces of legislation we passed out of the House ready to go

Iron Dome funding, munitions, real things that we've been talking about. And obviously we need to talk about even more specific things

You want to get in details. I'll get into details with you. Now, I think Scalise is trying to play it cagey

He's trying to play it coy. He doesn't know which way the members of his caucus want to vote, I think

And he's trying to maybe gauge them. But you have to stand firm in what you believe in

If you believe in something, if you have core values, core beliefs, you have to stand in those

And if people come along, great. And if they don't, that's great, too. Every day on here, except for Mondays, I give you guys my core beliefs and my values

They don't change if Donald Trump disagrees with me or Jordan disagrees with me or Matt

Gates disagrees with me. My core values and my principles are my core values and my principles

Everybody should have them. We shouldn't be led by what other people want and then change our principles and our values

on a whim, because then they're not principles and values. If I say something you disagree with, it doesn't mean you have to hate me

You can still enjoy the other things I say, but you disagree with me on that one topic, that's fine

Because you have core values and beliefs that maybe don't match what my core values and

beliefs are. And that's okay. Scalise should have answered the question directly

I think Morita Bartiromo was right here. He should have answered the question as it was asked
