Hey ladies and gentlemen, this is Carmine Sabia for Explain America, and it looks like
0:04
former President Donald Trump, he may have just found a running mate for his Vice President
0:10
spot in 2024. Before we get started, please make sure you like, comment, share, and subscribe
0:18
Those little things really help us out and they help our channel continue to grow
0:22
You know, there's been a lot of speculation. Trump is unabashedly, undoubtedly, unquestionably the front runner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination
0:32
It's not even close. He's so far ahead, it's like, I don't know, the tortoise and the hare, except the hare
0:38
is so far ahead the tortoise just gave up at this point
0:42
He's so far ahead nobody's catching him. It would take something miraculous for somebody to catch him
0:50
And so, a lot of people have spoken themselves about being the Vice Presidential nominee
0:56
and one of those candidates was asked by Newsweek just this week if they would take the call
1:03
Now, his name, if you don't know it, is Larry Elder. Now, Larry Elder ran for Governor of California, and he's a very popular conservative radio host
1:14
Interviewed by Newsweek, he said he would take the call if Trump or DeSantis or whoever
1:18
gets the nomination were to call him. He said in the unlikely event he doesn't get the nomination himself
1:24
Okay, Larry, I love you, but you and I both know that you getting the nomination, that's
1:30
the unlikely event. It's not going to happen. It's not going to happen
1:34
Maybe any other year without Trump, maybe. But he said in the interview, and I thought this was interesting, he said it's not that
1:42
he doesn't think Trump should get the nomination. It's that he thinks he's worried about the general election because he said Trump derangement
1:49
syndrome is so rampant. He said, you know, I hope they find a vaccine or a cure because it's so rampant that people
1:56
just will not vote for him because he's Trump. They have no other reason
2:00
And I think that that's an interesting takeaway because I believe that that's true in some cases
2:05
Now, Larry Elder, to me, very smart man. Again, a great talker
2:11
He's a radio host, very popular. I think he could be a great vice presidential pick for Trump if Trump decided to go with
2:18
a male. Now, there's a lot of talk that he needs to get suburban women, so he might go that route
2:23
instead and try and pick a female. But if he didn't, Larry Elder, you could do a lot worse than Larry Elder, believe me
2:30
He would be great. The thing is, there's so many people to choose from. You got Marjorie Taylor Greene, you got Kristi Noem, you've got the other people in the Republican field
2:39
I'm a big Tim Scott fan. I know some people may or may not be. Everybody's got their own personal preferences
2:44
I happen to love Tim Scott. I love Vivek Ramaswamy, you know, and I think he's a great guy
2:52
There's a whole field full of people, really. I certainly would stay away from Chris Christie
2:56
I certainly would stay away from Asa Hutchinson. But there's a lot of people in that field that could be good
3:01
I think Ron DeSantis could be good, although I think the rift between him and Trump may
3:05
be too far gone at this point to mend that fence, unfortunately
3:09
And it is unfortunate, because they're both stars in this party. But what I want to know in the comments is who would you guys pick to be Trump's running mate
3:17
Let me know that in the comments. Would you pick Larry Elder? Do you know a lot about Larry Elder
3:21
If you don't, you should. He's fantastic. Let me know in the comments who you would pick
3:26
Also, please remember to like, share, and subscribe. Again, that really helps us out
3:30
Once again, I'm Carmine Sabia. This is Explain America. We love you guys
3:35
God bless you. Take care, everybody
