Hey ladies and gentlemen this is Carmine Sabia for Explain America and the people prosecuting
0:06
former President Donald Trump just got a huge wake up call, a big dose of reality and some
0:12
really bad news. Before we get started please make sure you like, comment, share and subscribe
0:19
Those little things really help us out and they help our channel continue to grow
0:23
Now this bad news comes from a source you wouldn't expect. Somebody who I think wants to see Trump punished to the fullest extent of the law whether he's
0:31
guilty or not. That person is former FBI Director Andrew McCabe. Again no fan of Donald Trump but very wise when it comes to the law
0:41
You're talking about a former Deputy Director of the FBI, a major player
0:47
This guy is a serious man and what he said was after the gag order was issued by Judge
0:53
Mershawn in the Alvin Bragg Stormy Daniels case, he said this could be a major backfire
0:59
not just on that case but on all the prosecutions of Trump
1:04
Now a lot of people have argued that it helps Trump look better in the public eye
1:08
It makes him look like a persecuted victim but McCabe takes it a step further
1:14
What he says is this is actually going to hurt the prosecutors because the prosecutors
1:19
are now distracted by all this nonsense and they don't really know which way to go
1:24
Alvin Bragg is asking for clarification. He's asking for clarification on the gag order because he doesn't know what it really means
1:32
So this is taking time. It's distracting from the case. It's distracting from their pursuit of Donald Trump and I think that's fantastic because
1:39
I believe especially in the Alvin Bragg and Letitia James cases, these are political prosecutions
1:46
Vanny Willis, Jack Smith, they can make a better case for why they're bringing their cases
1:51
I also think those are political but they can make a better case than Bragg and Letitia James can make
1:58
Because with Bragg and Letitia James you really have to look at that and say are these cases
2:01
brought if it's anybody but Donald Trump? You know with Willis and Smith you can make a legitimate case that these cases would have
2:10
been brought anyway. I don't believe it but you could make the case
2:14
Now I want you guys to watch this video of what McCabe has to say and let me know what you think
2:19
Of course as always please remember to like, comment, share and subscribe
2:22
I'm Carmine Sabia for Explain America. We love you guys. God bless you
2:28
Take care everybody. We talk to voters tomorrow. We shall see. All right
2:32
Kristen Holmes reporting for us. Thank you very much. I want to bring in our legal, law enforcement and political experts right now
2:37
And Andrew McCabe, let me start with you. This hush money trial in Manhattan
2:41
How significant is it that Alvin Bragg himself is now asking the judge to clarify this entire
2:48
gag order? Wolf, I'm afraid that the request for clarification by D.A. Bragg is a perfect example of how
2:55
these gag orders create more of a distraction than they do a productive limitation of this
3:02
of Donald Trump's speech. I think each time we've had a gag order whether it's in the civil case or it's in this criminal
3:09
case or the gag order in the D.C. federal case that's already been litigated
3:14
Each time the Trump team takes advantage of the imposition of those orders to file appeals
3:19
to request clarification, to make overheated statements. All of that distracts the prosecutors and the prosecution team away from their main
3:29
role which is to stay focused on the case and put together the best case they can
3:33
I'm just not convinced that these gag orders are worth the effort that has to go behind
3:37
And I think Trump and his attorneys know exactly what they're doing which is trying
3:41
to delay everything because you end up going down a rabbit hole of what do you do with
3:46
the gag order? Do you challenge a gag order? Do you challenge the judge
3:51
And one thing leads to another and you're delaying the trial. It's interesting, you know, Norm, do you think that this judge, Judge Mershon, will expand
3:59
the gag order especially in light of the fact that Trump went after and attacked the judge's daughter
4:06
I think it's a close question whether the judge does expand the gag order, Wolf
4:11
He would be on sound constitutional grounds to do it. You're not allowed to make these kinds of statements and misstatements that create a
4:21
threat and risk to the family member of the judge. Trump included disinformation about Lauren, the judge's daughter
4:36
I think it's a close question. I think it's a close question.
