Doing what's right, even if it goes against business logic: Ecopreneur Club with Liz Jenkins
Sep 21, 2024
In this episode of Ecopreneur Club, I had the pleasure of chatting with Liz Jenkins, CEO of afreshspace. I’ve known Liz for quite a while and she’s been on the board of directors for my life, sharing with me a lot of wisdom over the years.
Liz is considered one of the OGs in the professional organising industry, beginning her career more than 20 years ago. As the queen of sorting, I felt it was only right that we bring her on the show to share her best tips for sorting intake material and creating effective business systems.
In this episode, we delve into the journey of working for yourself, while doing something you love, that is good for your community, and that you’ll be able to make good money at.
Liz shares how she came to start her own company, how the professional organising industry incorporates eco practices, why her team makes the decision not to throw away unwanted items and instead rehomes them - even if it goes against business logic, and the importance of building a community of people who feel supported through effective business systems and heard through regular check-ins.
