Peonies are beloved for their large, fragrant blooms and can thrive with proper care. Plant peonies in well-drained soil in a sunny spot, as they need at least 6 hours of sunlight daily. Space plants about 3 feet apart to ensure good airflow. Water deeply but infrequently, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. Peonies benefit from a balanced fertilizer in early spring.
