EU and US impose new sanctions on Russia to force ceasefire in Ukraine

The Trump administration has imposed sanctions on Russian energy majors for the first time, citing Moscow's "lack of serious commitment to a peace process to end the war". In parallel, the EU also adopted fresh sanctions.
