DAY 73 | The Book of Joshua: Chapter 12-15
Mar 16, 2023
The Book of Joshua is the sixth book of the Hebrew Bible and the sixth book of the Christian Old Testament. It picks up where the Book of Deuteronomy left off, with Moses having died and Joshua appointed as his successor. The book describes the Israelites' conquest of the land of Canaan, which God had promised them. Joshua leads the Israelites across the Jordan River and into Canaan, where they fight a series of battles against the Canaanite tribes. With God's help, the Israelites are successful in their conquest and the land is divided among the twelve tribes of Israel. The book also includes stories of individuals such as Rahab, a prostitute who helped the Israelites, and Achan, who disobeyed God's commands and suffered the consequences. Overall, the Book of Joshua emphasizes the importance of faith in God and obedience to his commands. It shows how the Israelites' trust in God's promises and willingness to follow his instructions led to their success, and how disobedience and lack of faith resulted in failure and punishment. The book concludes with Joshua reminding the Israelites of God's faithfulness and urging them to continue to serve and obey him.
