1 Kings is a book in the Bible that tells the story of the Israelites after the death of King David. It follows the reigns of his son, King Solomon, and subsequent kings of Israel and Judah. The book covers many significant events, such as the building of the Temple in Jerusalem, the division of the kingdom, the rise of false gods and prophets, and the destruction of the Temple. Through it all, we see the consequences of following God's commands or disobeying them.
