hi everyone anth kler here with a new
0:12
video tutorial and today I'm going to
0:14
show you how to photo transfer so you
0:17
can do this with any
0:20
printed uh image it can be an inkjet or
0:23
a laser jet it doesn't really matter I
0:26
have printed the faces of Marilyn Monroe
0:29
and created a grid with masking tape on
0:32
my paper and now I'm taking a little bit
0:36
of gel medium you can also you use mod
0:40
podge and I am applying it on the paper
0:44
and the photo and I'm attaching
0:48
it facing down the image is facing the
0:54
paper so don't get confused about
0:57
that so again apply ling a very thin
1:00
coat of gel medium on my paper and then
1:03
a very thin coat on the image itself you
1:06
can do it with colored images black and
1:08
white images whatever you want so I'm
1:11
going to attach the faces in different
1:16
directions again it's up to you how
1:19
large the image is what direction you
1:22
want it to be I'm just showing you the
1:27
technique so last image
1:34
and then we can go ahead and start the
1:37
transferring process which basically is
1:40
already started so the next thing that
1:41
you need to do is wet your finger or wet
1:44
the photo just a little bit you can do
1:47
this with a baby wipe as well and start
1:50
rubbing the photo now what will happen
1:53
is that the top layer is going to be
1:57
turned into paper crumbs
2:00
because of the moisture of the water and
2:04
what you're going to be left with is the
2:07
image itself embedded in the paper and
2:10
that is the transfer so you can do this
2:13
like I said with a baby wipe or your
2:14
finger it can take a little bit of time
2:17
don't use too much water because then it
2:19
will Rip you can see on the right side
2:23
that a little bit of the nose and the
2:26
mouth are gone because I've rubbed too
2:29
much
2:30
yes it can even happen to me so be very
2:33
gentle with the amount of water that you
2:35
spray and with your
2:39
rubbing you can see all the crumbs
2:42
around the
2:46
paper and
2:48
then how good the image looks after we
2:52
got rid of
2:54
the top layer of the paper so now that I
2:57
have all my images transferred to the
3:01
paper I can go ahead and add whatever I
3:05
want to them so basically you can use
3:07
this technique on any
3:11
surface you can use it on tiles on wood
3:16
on glass on
3:17
plastic like I said on
3:20
paper and it's really easy to transfer
3:24
and again you can use a baby wipe if you
3:26
don't want to use your fingers so now
3:28
it's just a matter of taking the image
3:31
that you transferred and turning it into
3:34
art so you can do this on your art
3:36
journal page you can do this on a
3:39
scrapbook page you can do this in your
3:42
Bible Journal you can do this just as a
3:44
mixed
3:46
media uh canvas this technique will work
3:49
on canvas too so basically you can do
3:52
this whenever you want and the art that
3:55
you add is completely up to
3:58
you so since I've made a grid of that
4:01
masking tape I can basically create four
4:06
different let's call them tiles or
4:10
rectangles and I'm going to alter the
4:13
face and alter the background of each of
4:15
these
4:16
triangles sorry rectangles I always get
4:19
confused with rectangles and triangles
4:23
so the art is going to be completely
4:25
different on each of the rectangles or
4:30
the
4:32
tiles and that is completely up to you
4:35
so here I'm using a black water color
4:38
pencil that you can either dip in water
4:41
and then it will react or you can just
4:44
color and then take a wet brush
4:48
and color over it or wet it and then
4:51
you'll get this beautiful vibrant color
4:54
I really like working with watercolor
4:56
pencils they look really
4:58
cool
5:00
next I'm just going to
5:02
use just an orange
5:05
watercolor you can use acrylic paint
5:07
markers whatever you want when you
5:09
create your art it's completely up to
5:11
you what you want it
5:13
to how you want it to
5:16
look you can prepare the background in
5:19
advance and then add the image on top of
5:22
it and then you will have you will see
5:25
since that image is is slightly
5:28
transparent you you will see the
5:30
background underneath so now that I have
5:32
all the
5:34
background painted on all the
5:38
tiles just going to add
5:42
details and you can add details to the
5:44
face around the face you can add details
5:46
to the hair you can add whatever you
5:49
want this is your art it's actually has
5:53
nothing to do with the transfer part
5:56
oops my camera moved sorry about that
6:00
I just want to show you what you can do
6:02
after you transfer the
6:05
photo basically this
6:08
is this has a problem here since part of
6:11
her nose is missing like I
6:13
said but you can still see the potential
6:17
for the
6:21
art and what you can
6:25
do just by adding little swirls around
6:28
with a black pen
6:30
doesn't have to be too
6:34
complicated I really like how each of
6:37
the faes is in a different direction so
6:40
that makes it really
6:47
cool so I'm going to put a little bit of
6:49
music for you to enjoy the creative
6:58
process
7:01
[Music]
7:43
[Music]
7:52
[Music]
7:58
y
8:01
[Music]
9:13
[Music]
10:01
so once I'm done with all the art I can
10:04
remove the masking
10:07
tape and then I'll have really straight
10:10
edges and everything will look really
10:13
pretty you can frame this you can cut
10:15
this you can do whatever you want with
10:18
it really hope you like this technique

all the techniques thank you very much
10:33
for joining me I really hope you give it
10:35
a try since the faces are in different
10:38
direction you can turn this to any
10:40
direction that you want Isn't that cool
10:43
so thank you very much for joining me
