Friction Ring Vs Detent Pin

Friction ring and detent pin impact wrenches are two types of impact wrenches we can use for removing and tightening the lug nuts. Hog ring impact wrench is another name for a friction ring. In pin detent impact wrench there is a ball bearing at the side of the anvil. When the socket is tightened it can lock without moving out while it is rotating. Friction rings have a ring at the end of the anvil. Hence the impact socket can tighten with the ring. When the ring is worn, you have to replace it. Normally, a friction ring can change the socket quickly. But this will take much time when it uses a detent pin. So if you need to change the socket regularly, you had better go with the friction ring. If you have to use a few sockets that rarely need to change you can use a detent pin impact wrench.
