Hi, it's David Brooke, That Gratitude Guy
0:07
And today I'm with my friend Jack Fiderer, the CEO of the Pacific Institute, that fine
0:11
organization that was started over 40 years ago by Lou and Diane Tice here in West Seattle
0:17
So Jack, welcome to That Gratitude Guy. Thank you, David. You bet
0:22
And Jack, what are you grateful for? It's an interesting question, but an easy one for me
0:28
The person that has had the greatest impact on my life and therefore I'm most grateful
0:33
for, and I've got to exclude my family, would be Lou Tice
0:38
And the work that he invited me in to share with him during his 43 years that he worked
0:48
led, and directed the Pacific Institute. And the ability to work with him over about 80% of that time and see the people and the
1:00
lives and the corporations changed because of the cognitive science, the thought process
1:08
he brought to individuals and corporations alike. That is a gift that he has given me and a gift that he keeps giving
1:18
And I know Lou passed on a couple of years ago and I'm sure if he was here he'd certainly
1:22
be grateful to you and your contribution to the Pacific Institute. But I just think it's so incredible how gratitude is part of that piece of what we do when we
1:31
talk about what's between the brain. And I think you mentioned, of course, your family too, and I'm sure that's a big part
1:36
of your life as well. And it's easy to forget that. And to ask that question and make you reflect on it is something that everybody should do. Absolutely
1:50
And I think as Jack mentioned, it's not only professionally and personally, we always kind of have two halves of our lives
1:55
And as he said, he's very grateful for, of course, Lou and Diane and the opportunity he had here and how that's changed the world and his family as well
2:01
So it's one of the reasons why I like these gratitude special guest segments so much
2:06
You get a different perspective every single time. So Jack, thank you so much for being a guest
2:10
Appreciate it. You bet. Thank you. Stay tuned for another special guest in the next couple of days
