Hi, It’s That Gratitude Guy with today’s 2-minute gratitude video: A Gratitude Journal’s Legacy Be sure and listen for today’s Gratitude Tip of the Day. I was talking to my friend Mark in San Diego a couple of days ago, and he mentioned a powerful concept. He said, “Did you ever think about the amazing legacy of a gratitude journal?” What if we had access to the gratitude journals of our parents, or other relatives from our past? Think about what it would be like to discover a box of gratitude journals that were written by your parents? What would it feel like to know what your parents were truly grateful for? Or, what would it be like to read about what they were thinking? When you look through the old scrapbooks, or the photos on an electronic device, the pictures can’t really communicate what the person was thinking. You never know that maybe something that they wanted to say to you was never said, but it was included in their gratitude journal. Things like I’m so proud of my son or daughter. One of the comments that I hear a lot is, “I wish I would have said this to that person” or “I wish I would have spent more time with my kids” Well, we can’t undo time, but we can leave a lasting legacy of our thoughts and gratitude. Use a gratitude journal to record your thoughts in your handwriting, and the generations after you will be very grateful to have that lasting, documented legacy of you and your gratitude. Now, The Gratitude Question of the Day… Who in your life would benefit from seeing the gratitude journals of your life?
