Vin Scully, legendary broadcaster, passes away

bringing you some breaking news. Legendary baseball broadcaster and the voice for so many years of the Los Angeles Dodgers

Vin Scully, has passed away at the ripe old age of 94

This news came across very recently, and we wanted to get it out to you as quickly as we could

I know that there are articles going up right now, but we specifically want to send our condolences to our buddies over at Dodgers Nation

and specifically all of Dodgers fans and baseball fans really because if you have been around the game for any length of time

Vin Scully is a name that you know. Here in Detroit, his connection is the 1984 World Series

When I pull up that Game 5 and watch it on YouTube, he is the voice that is narrating that soundtrack

And for 67 years, from 1950 to 2016, Vin Scully broadcasts baseball games

He was unparalleled in the way that he brought the game to life

He was incredible in the way that he told the stories And he truly, truly is an icon in the game of baseball

There's no other way to describe him than the fact that he is just purely iconic

With that smooth and soothing voice He was great at telling stories and didn't do games with an yst

He would carry on the conversation with him and his fans for all nine innings We talking about a guy that broadcasts the likes of Jackie Robinson Sandy Koufax

Kurt Gibson, and Clayton Kershaw. Around for all of it, Vin Scully

Vin Scully was born November 29, 1927 in New York City. and he passed away tonight, August 2, 2022

It is a situation that is difficult, I'm sure, for a lot of fans that have grown up around the game

because he is the soundtrack of summer in a lot of ways

I mean, before I even knew who Vin Scully was, It's the very first video game, baseball video game that I got, probably MVP 2005 from ESPN Sports

He or EA Sports, not ESPN Sports. He was the voice on it

And it's a big loss. I was actually on a meeting and saw the notification come across and don't even really know what to say about it

But Vin is and has been a legend. He is somebody that I would personally seek out on MLB TV just to listen to him narrate a game

to listen to the stories that he would tell because he had seen so much and he had been around so much

And he was able to talk about a game that I loved and still love in a way that was captivating

in a way that could turn around any bad day. He was just incredible, incredible at what he did

I definitely again want to say to Dodgers Nation and to all Dodgers fans Our condolences here from Detroit You know he as I said the connection is the 1984 World Series

that he did the play-by-play for in Old Tiger Stadium. So if you ever get a hankering to hear the voice of the man again

go look it up on YouTube because Game 5 is there and you get to see a Tigers World Series victory

Yeah, he voiced video games, but more importantly, he voiced America's pastime for over 60 years

He also was on the historic call of Hank Aaron's 756, 57th home run

I can't remember off the top of my head because, again, a little shook right now. But Hank Aaron's record-breaking home run, 715th

I'm sorry. Barry Bonds hit a lot more than that. 715th record-breaking home run Vin Scully was on the call for

Call it right place, right time, but the Braves are playing the Dodgers, and if you hear those highlights, then you're hearing Vin Scully's voice

He is somebody that you can't get away from if you know the game of baseball

He's just a fantastic, fantastic broadcaster. He retired in 2016 and is just, by all accounts, a great human being, a great man

and somebody who is going to be terribly missed. There was a statement that was put out

It looks, and I'm trying to make sure that I get this correct

but it does look like it was put out by the Dodgers

So I do want to read this as he was the voice of the Dodgers and so much more He was their conscience their poet laureate capturing the beauty and chronicling their glory from Jackie Robinson to Sandy Koufax Kurt Gibson to Clayton Kershaw

Vin Scully was the heartbeat of the Dodgers and in so many ways the heartbeat of all of Los Angeles

And in a lot of ways you could also say that Vin Scully was the heartbeat of baseball

He was a guy that could tell a story and get you captivated, could put you at ease

and it's another legend and another great that has passed away at the age of 94

just shy of his 95th birthday. Probably too much to say and probably not enough that could be said well

about the type of guy that Vin Scully was. But I do, again, want to send out condolences to all of Dodgers Nation

specifically Dodgers fans and anybody who has had any type of connection to

Vin Scully, maybe not a personal one, but definitely one that maybe got you interested in the beautiful game of baseball

Maybe set your mind at ease for a few hours as he narrated the pastime to you

Somebody that will be missed. And it's definitely time to go look up old YouTube clips of that soothing and

wonderful voice of Vin Scully, who now will rest in peace. August 2, 2022, the world lost a great baseball commentator and by all accounts, a great human being
