I Poured Blue Resin Into a Teak Root and Couldn't Believe the Result

In this woodturning project, I create a stunning decorative vase from a beautiful piece of teak root combined with deep pour epoxy resin. Before casting, the wood was carefully oven-dried to remove moisture and ensure a safe, successful resin pour. Using my own slow-cure deep pour epoxy resin, I cast the piece with rich dark blue mica powder, creating a striking contrast against the natural texture and character of the teak root. Once the resin had fully cured, the real fun began as I mounted the blank on the lathe and transformed it into a unique vase through the art of woodturning. After shaping, the piece underwent extensive sanding to achieve a flawless surface before receiving multiple coats of high-gloss lacquer.
