Carving a Dragon Egg for Rhaenyra - Woodturning
Apr 14, 2025
In this week’s video I cast red brown mallee burl in epoxy resin to make a resin dragon egg. I left it to cure on the side for a few hours then returned to add some white swirls into the resin and then shaped it using my woodturning lathe, I polished it up with on my three-stage buffing wheel for a crystal clear look. Making resin hybrid dragon eggs are great and fairly simple woodturning projects and there are no limitations on what can be done. Different objects can be casted into the resin or to dye the resin itself for special looks.
