An Open Reply to Auntie Theist Juror and The Goose of Discontent I am thankful my daughter shared the recent video with me. Far from driving us apart, it gave us a good chance to talk these things over. People may believe whatever they like, but belief does not make a thing true. I am persuaded my reply is not nonsense, though some reject it out of hand. The dating of the New Testament writings is not a trivial matter, yet many critics reveal little grasp of it, either personally or academically. For that reason, I have offered both my own testimony and scholarly work for consideration. When answering the Goose, I quoted the Bible directly, so he could read the words in their context. I did this because I believe the Scriptures are a reliable source of truth. His refusal to accept them as such is his problem. ‘The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding’ (Proverbs 9:10). My story of how I came to believe the gospel is told in my book ‘ Converted on LSD Trip’. I commend it to any who scoff at faith. To deny the Bible as a true account of creation is ignorance; none of us were there. His denial is not evidence, but unbelief. Worse, he repeats borrowed arguments designed only to discredit God’s word. He calls the Bible a book of contradictions, the greatest lie in history. But the real lie is the same one whispered to Eve in Eden: ‘Ye shall not surely die’ (Genesis 3:4). He echoes that voice when he says the Bible is not truth. His belief does not make it so. He dismisses Noah’s Flood and the virgin birth as myth. Such charges come not from honest inquiry but from prejudice. Meanwhile, the gospel of Christ appeals to the conscience of every man and gives a moral compass that stands the test of time. ‘Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners’ (1 Corinthians 15:33). His views are not harmless; they wound both himself and those who follow him. The gospel is no myth—it is life. As Jesus said, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me’ (John 14:6). And again, ‘If ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins’ (John 8:24). For the Goose to argue that Christianity should be stripped from law, schools, and daily life is no progress. It is hostility toward God. The problem is not the truth of the Bible, but the stubborn heart that refuses it. David Clarke 23/09/2025
