Hi guys, Bobby here and I'm back to show you how to crochet this really cute Christmas tree ornament pattern
0:06
So this ornament is 5 inches tall and for this pattern I used a yarn called Mira
0:11
I actually found this yarn on Amazon and it came in a set of 12 with different colors
0:17
Its yarn weight is number 3 which will be perfect for making ornaments
0:21
And on the back of the yarn you can see that a 4.5 crochet hook will work out great and that's exactly what I'm going to use
0:28
So here's my crochet hook and as you can see it is a 4.5 millimeter and that converts to a 7 U.S. crochet hook
0:35
So if you don't have a 4.5 of 4mm would work too. I will also be using a yarn needle, some yarn scissors, some polyester polyfill stuffing
0:46
small buttons. Now I actually found this set on Amazon and I will put the link in the description box below. I'm going to be using some different colors of thread to sew on my buttons, but if you only have one color like a white, then that should be
0:57
work too. And lastly I will be using a thread needle to sew on the buttons. Okay so before we get
1:04
started go and grab the written pattern for this tree ornament and that way you can have the pattern
1:09
right by your side as you follow along with me. Now the pattern is on my website and I will link the
1:15
patterns page in the description box below and I will also link all of the supplies that I'm using
1:20
today as well. Okay to start this pattern off we're going to go ahead and make a slip knot
1:25
and then we're going to chain three. So there's one, two, and three. Okay, for row one
1:37
we're going to place a single crochet into the second chain from our hook. So there's
1:46
our first single crochet. Now we're going to place one more single crochet in the
1:50
very last chain. and that will make a total of two single crochets
2:00
Okay, for row two, we're going to chain one. That will be our turning chain
2:05
So turn your work around, and now we're going to place two single crochets in each stitch across
2:10
So that'll be a total of four single crochets. So there's one, and place one more single crochet into the same stitch
2:21
So there's two. And then place two more single crochet. crochet into the next stitch. So there's one and two into that very last stitch
2:38
For row three we're going to chain one and then turn our work and we're going to place two
2:49
place two single crochets into that very first stitch. So there's one and two into the first stitch
2:58
And now we're going to place one single crochet into the next two stitches
3:05
So there's one and two. Now in the very last stitch we'll place two more single crochets
3:16
So there's one and two single crochets into the same stitch, into that very last stitch
3:25
On row four, we're going to chain one. Then we're going to turn our work
3:31
Then we're going to place another two single crochets into the first stitch
3:37
So there's one single crochet and two into the same stitch. Now we're going to place one single crochet into the next four stitches
3:46
So there's one, two, three, and three, and four, and four
4:03
Now place two single crochets into the very last stitch. So there's one and two into that last stitch
4:18
And that will give us a total of eight single crochets for that row
4:22
For row five we're going to chain one, turn our work. We're going to place two single crochets into the first stitch just like we've been doing
4:29
the whole time. So there's one single crochet and two into the same stitch
4:37
And now we'll just place one single crochet stitch into the next six stitches
4:41
So there's one, two, three, four, four, five, and there is six
5:03
Now in the last single crochet, go ahead and place two more again
5:08
So there's one and two into the same stitch. And that will give us a total of 10 single crochets
5:17
Okay, moving on to row six, we're going to chain one and turn our work
5:22
And again we're going to place two single crochets into that first stitch
5:25
There's one, there's two. Now place one single crochet into the next eight single crochet stitches
5:33
So there's one, two, three four five
5:47
six six seven and eight
5:59
now place two single crochets into the very last stitch so there's one
6:06
and two and this will give us a total of 12 single crochets
6:11
Moving on to row seven we going to chain one and turn our work And then we going to place two single crochets into the first stitch just like we been doing the whole time
6:24
So there's one, two into the same stitch. Now we're going to place one single crochet into the next ten single crochet stitches
6:32
So there's one, two, three, four
6:44
five, six, seven, eight, nine, and ten, and then, eight, nine, and ten, and then two single crochets into the last stitch
7:06
So there's one, and then two single crochets, into the same stitch. Row 8 is going to be different. We're going to turn our work, but we're
7:19
not going to chain first. So go ahead and just turn your work. And now we just slip stitch
7:25
into the next four single crochet stitches. So there's one slip stitch. There's two slip stitches
7:38
three and four slip stitches. And now we're going to work one single crochet into the next six stitches
7:53
So there's one, two, three, four, five
8:08
and six. Now there will be four stitches left over and we're not going to crochet into those stitches
8:15
and that will make a total of six single crochets for this row. On row nine we're going to chain one and turn our work
8:23
and then we're going to place two single crochets into the first stitch
8:29
So there's one and two single crochets into the first stitch. Now go ahead and place one single crochet into the next four stitches
8:38
So there's one, two, three, and four
8:51
Now in the next stitch we're going to place two single crochets again
8:56
So there's one and two. For row 10, we're going to chain one and turn our work
9:04
We're going to place two single crochets into the first stitch. So there's one, two into the first stitch, and then place one single crochet into the next six stitches
9:17
One, two, three, four, there's five, and six, and six, and then place two into the last stitch
9:36
so there's one and two into that last stitch again for row 11 we're going to chain
9:44
and turn our work we're going to place two single crochets into the first
9:48
stitch so there's one and two now place one single crochet into the next
9:54
eight stitches so there's one two three
10:03
three, four, five, six, seven, seven, and eight. Now place two in the very last stitch
10:26
So there's one and two into that same stitch. Row 12, we're going to chain
10:33
one turn our work place two single crochets into the first stitch one two into the first
10:42
stitch place one single crochet into the next ten single crochet stitches so there's one
10:47
two three four five five
11:03
six, seven, eight, nine, and ten, and two, and two single, and two single crochets into that last stitch
11:19
And that will give us a total of 14 stitches
11:33
single crochets for that row. Again for row 13 we're going to chain one turn our work
11:39
place two single crochets into the first stitch, one, two into the first, and then we're
11:46
going to place one single crochet into the next 12 stitches. One, two, three, four
12:03
5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 10, and 12, and 12, and place 2, and 12, and place 2 single crochets into the last stitch
12:33
So there one and two and that will give us 16 single crochets Moving on to row 14 chain one and turn your work
12:46
Place two single crochets into the first stitch. So there's one and two into the same stitch
12:58
Now place a single crochet into the next 14 single crochet stitches
13:02
So 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 7, 8, 9, 10, 10, 10, 10
13:32
11, 12, 13, and 14, and place 2 in the very last stitch
13:46
So there's 1 and 2 into that last stitch. Moving on to row 15, we're going to chain 1 and turn our work, and then again work two
13:57
single crochets into that first stitch. So there's one and two single crochets into the first
14:08
stitch. Now remember just to work a set of single crochets into the next 16 single
14:13
crochet stitches. So one, two, three, four, five, five
14:27
6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 11, 12, 13, 13
14:57
Now work two into the last stitch. So there's one and two into that last stitch
15:05
And that will make a total of 20 single crochets for that row. For row 16, we're just going to turn our work without chaining this time
15:14
And we're going to work six slip stitches into the next six single crochet stitches
15:19
So there's one slip stitch. There's two
15:33
Had a little bit of trouble with that one. Three. Four. Five
15:44
And six. Now place one single crochet into the next eight stitches
15:56
So there's one, two, three, four, five, five, six, seven. That will give us a total of eight single crochet stitches, and you'll have six single crochet stitches, and you'll have six single crochets left over that we didn't work into
16:24
For row 17, we're back to chaining one and turning our work
16:29
And then we're going to work two single crochets into that first stitch
16:34
So there's one and two. And place one single crochet into the next six stitches
16:41
One, two, three, four, five
16:52
and six and then place two in the very last single crochet stitch so there's one and two into the same stitch
17:02
for row 18 go ahead and chain one and turn your work place two single crochets into the first stitch
17:10
one and two into that first stitch and then place one single crochet into the next eight stitches
17:20
one, two, three, there's four, five, five, six, and then place two
17:42
into the last stitch. So there's one and one and two, two
17:50
into that last stitch that should make a total of 12 single crochets going on to row 19
17:56
chain one and turn your work place two single crochets into the first stitch
18:01
so one and there's two and now place one single crochet into the next ten stitches
18:11
so one two three, four, five, six, seven, seven, eight, eight, nine, and ten, and place two into the last single crochet stitch
18:49
So there one and two into that last stitch And that will give us a total of 14 single crochets for that row Okay so rows 20 through 24 are exactly the same as all of the other rows that we done
19:05
So I'm going to let you do those rows on your own. So go ahead and pause the video here and finish up those rows and remember that you just
19:12
need to increase the first stitch and the last stitch. So remember, just place two single crochets into the first stitch and two single crochets
19:19
into the last stitch. And also remember that when you finish row 24, remember you'll have 24 single crochets in all
19:29
Okay guys, now that we finish the tree, we need to go ahead and make another one so that we can sew them together
19:35
So if you need to rewind this video, go ahead and crochet the second side of this tree
19:39
And then I'll meet you back here and show you how to sew these two sides together. Okay, so after you crochet the second side of the tree, go ahead and put both of the trees together
19:50
and now we're going to single crochet around these two pieces together
19:55
To do this, go ahead and make a slip knot. Insert your hook into the left side of the tree
20:06
Make sure to insert it into the first tree and into the second tree
20:16
Grab your slip knot. and pull the slip knot through both of the trees
20:27
Now you're going to single crochet around this tree, and as you're doing it
20:32
make sure to tuck your tail ends into the middle of the trees, so that way you don't have to go back and weave those in later
20:38
Now, it doesn't matter how many single crochets you get around the tree
20:42
Our main goal is just to get these two sides stitched together, so again, it doesn't matter how many stitches you use to do this
20:48
So just make sure you're inserting your hook into both front and back trees and that you're only single crocheting just the sides together
20:56
Now I start on the left side because I want to single crochet around the entire tree except for the bottom
21:02
We want to leave the bottom of the two trees open so that we can fill this tree with stuffing
21:07
So I'm going to speed up the track and finish this up and I'm going to leave the bottom open
21:12
and I will be back to show you how to fill up this tree with stuffing
21:18
Okay, to fill this tree with stuffing, first I'm just going to tuck my tail ends into the tree. I'm going to cut them down just a little bit. I'm going to go ahead and stuff them up into the tree
21:44
and then I'm going to go ahead and take my stuffing and I'm just going to start stuffing it
21:50
and I'm not going to overstuff it too full and you don't want to understuff it either so kind of
21:54
just find that happy medium make sure to fill those sides as well you want to make sure
21:59
that everything is pretty good and stuffed and I'm just speeding up the track here to
22:08
finish up the stuffing And now we're just going to finish by single crocheting the bottom of the two trees together
22:44
Now go ahead and grab your yarn needle and let's weave in that last loose yarn end
22:54
And I'm going to weave mine in by just working around a couple of crochet stitches and
22:59
then I'll just cut it off when I'm done. So now we just need to make something in order to hang this tree ornament up
23:09
So what we're going to do is we're going to start with a slip knot
23:12
ahead and insert the slip knot into the very top of the tree
23:19
We're going to slip stitch it into the top of the tree
23:29
So slip stitch and now go ahead and chain 20. So there's one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight
23:42
9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 17, 18, 19, 19, and 20
23:56
Now just take the end of the chain and slip stitch it back into the top of the tree
24:05
Now go ahead and cut your yarn in, leaving a few inches for weaving, and just pull the yarn through to fast
24:12
and off. Go ahead and just weave those tail ends back into the tree
24:26
So I'm just using some thread and a thread needle and I'm going to sew my buttons onto this tree
24:31
And I actually went ahead and made four different trees and I put on four different kinds of buttons
24:38
So I'll show you those buttons in a minute. And to save some time, I'm just speaking
24:42
up the track just to kind of give you a quick look at how I'm sewing on the buttons
24:49
Okay, so here are my finished trees. I just took some quick pictures of them to show you how they turned out
24:59
And I think they turned out really cute. So I just wanted to thank you guys for watching my videos and for commenting and for all the likes and all the shares
25:07
And I really appreciate you guys for all of the support you give me in this channel
25:11
and I hope to be back really soon with a new pattern, and I will see you guys next time
