How to crochet the Rope Stitch (V-Stitch) The rope stitch is often confused with the V-Stich as they both create an open fabric. The main difference is how to work the first row of stitches into the foundation chain and the misconception that the V-Stitch is usually shown to have a chain between the Double crochets. In fact the V-Stitch can have any number of chains between the 2 stitches, even no chain!
