BREAKING: Federal Judge Issues Massive Ruling In Trump's DC Case - The Clock Is Ticking

for Explain America, and we just got word of a judge's order, Judge Tanya Chutkin

in the D.C. case against former President Donald Trump. She has just issued an order, and we have it here

and we thank you. So Judge Chutkin issued an order for the Trump team of attorneys to respond

by Monday at 5 p.m. Eastern to the motion filed by Jack Smith on Friday

Now Jack Smith is a special prosecutor in the Trump D.C. case

On Friday, he filed a special motion in response to Trump's post on Truth Social

And Trump's post on Truth Social was pretty simple. It said, if you come for me, I'm gonna come for you

Now that was taken by him, Jack Smith, and his office as a threat

But Trump's team says it wasn't a threat at all. What they say is it was just a matter

of telling the deep state, telling the super PACs that are against them, telling their political opponents

that they will be coming after them politically. So it's a matter of interpretation

But Chutkin is a very tough judge. She's been the toughest judge on the January 6th rioters

She's not been known to be a fan of Trump if you read any of her rulings

though I can't get in the woman's head and tell you for certain. Anecdotal evidence does kinda paint the picture

that she's not a big Trump fan. That doesn't mean she can't do her job impartially or properly

But again, she's tough. She's a very tough judge. So she wants the Trump team to respond, basically

and explain why there shouldn't be an order of protection. And so I wanna explain again

if you didn't see my previous videos, what an order of protection means in this case

It doesn't mean they're afraid Donald Trump's gonna jump out from behind a bush and attack them

It means an order of protection over the documents and the information that they're gonna hand over

during discovery. So Jack Smith's office has to hand Trump's defense team

a lot of paperwork during discovery. If you've watched My Cousin Vinny

you understand the prosecutor has to give the defense team a certain amount of information

with all the information that they have against their client. So what they're afraid of is that Trump

is gonna let this information be known on Truth Social, and they're claiming it's gonna have a, quote

chilling effect, end quote, on witnesses or potential witnesses in the trial

And for this reason, they want the order of protection, which is kinda like a gag order, but not really

It's not a full gag order, but it is limiting somebody's First Amendment right

to free speech. So I believe all gag orders actually go against the Constitution and violate the First Amendment

That's my personal belief. Unfortunately, it's not a matter of law, though there are a lot of law scholars

who do agree with me on this. That being said, we're gonna have to wait till Monday

to find out what Team Trump does, what they say, and ultimately, what the judge's decision

is gonna be on this case, whether she'll side with Smith or side with Trump

Again, it is in the middle of a presidential campaign. He does need to speak about this stuff
