0:34
out president Trump made a decision to
0:37
revoke the National Security
0:39
clearances of former Secretary of State
0:42
Hillary Clinton former Congress people
0:45
Liz Cheney and Adam kininger and former
0:49
vice president kamla
0:50
Harris it's a controversial move I know
0:53
he's thinking about revoking the
0:55
national security clearance of former
0:57
President Joe Biden and a lot of people
1:00
have asked me why do people who had
1:03
these jobs in the past maintain national
1:05
security clearance long after they're
1:08
out of the job there's a number of
1:09
reasons
1:11
one they've already proven in most cases
1:13
that they can handle National Security
1:15
secrets and have been entrusted with
1:16
them so there's no need to revoke the
1:19
access two and this is an important one
1:22
they've held jobs where things may
1:24
happen during the next or future
1:26
administrations where they would want to
1:28
consult with the former secretary AR of
1:30
state or a former president and get
1:31
their input as to how they should handle
1:34
it or how they handle it or what they
1:36
think and it actually makes sense to
1:38
have two secretaries of State talking to
1:39
each other and saying you know look when
1:41
you dealt with so and so from this
1:43
country how did you handle it and what
1:46
are you know what are some ways I can
1:47
negotiate with them if you had success
1:50
it does make sense when you think about
1:51
it um me personally I probably wouldn't
1:55
have revoked Secretary of State
1:56
Clinton's national security clearance
1:58
for that very reason
2:01
that being said I understand why Trump
2:04
would do this considering a lot of the
2:06
secrets that these people are privy to
2:09
they then leak to the media and use
2:11
against him so in Trump's case he had no
2:13
choice he had no choice but to start
2:15
revoking these clearances and he may
2:17
even revoke the clearance of former
2:19
President Joe Biden again the reason is
2:21
first of all kinzinger and Cheney had no
2:23
reason to have security clearances
2:25
anymore they're not in Congress anymore
2:27
nobody's Consulting them for anything
2:29
they go k on CNN all the time talking
2:32
trash about Trump he doesn't need
2:33
National Security
2:34
Secrets but you know when the people
2:38
that are getting these secrets are then
2:39
leaking them to the media or using
2:41
things against Trump or I understand
2:43
Trump has to insulate because there's
2:45
too many leakers so he they left him
2:48
with no choice but to do this in a
2:50
perfect world you wouldn't have had to
2:53
revoke any of these security clearances
2:54
but we're not living in a perfect world
2:56
we're living in a world where Democrats
2:58
and rhinos are unhinged
3:00
I want you to watch this video on it and
3:02
let me know what you think in the
3:03
comments and so Elena you know the
3:05
president is also revoking security
3:07
clearances now for some of his political
3:09
Rivals uh tell us about
3:12
that right late last night uh the
3:15
president uh issued a memo directing
3:17
federal agencies to revoke uh the
3:20
security clearances for several of his
3:23
political allies dozen I should say and
3:25
that includes a former vice president
3:27
kamla Harris former Secretary of St
3:29
Hillary Clinton but then also a former
3:32
Republican Congressman Liz Cheney and
3:34
Adam kininger both of course who served
3:37
on the house committee that investigated
3:39
uh the president's role in January 6 now
3:42
this is the reasoning that President
3:43
Donald Trump issued for doing this he
3:45
said uh quote the uh he argued it was no
3:48
longer in the National interest for the
3:50
following individuals to access
3:52
classified information but look Fred
3:54
this move is really the latest attempt
3:56
by the president uh to revoke the
3:58
clearances of his political uh enemies
4:01
and we saw him in February say that he
4:03
wanted to revoke the clearance of former
4:05
President Joe Biden yesterday in this
4:07
move it was really formalizing that but
4:09
we've also seen him take similar efforts
4:11
to revoke the clearances of law firms
4:13
that investigated him over the past four
4:16
years um so this is just an escalation
4:18
of really that rhetoric of him uh in
4:20
some way seeking retribution against
4:22
those who opposed him in the past Fred
4:24
all right Elena TR thank you so much
