Hey ladies and gentlemen, this is Carmine Sabia for Explain America
0:04
And, well, President Trump might have a massive trick up his sleeve
0:09
to totally annihilate the Republican debate, of which it appears he will not be a part, this week
0:16
And, actually, it's kind of genius. Before we get started, please make sure you like, comment, share, and subscribe
0:22
Those little things really help us out, and they help our channel continue to grow
0:27
Now, as you guys know, former President Trump is under indictment in a lot of places
0:33
Washington, D.C., Miami, New York, Fulton County, Georgia. But Fulton County, Georgia is the only place he didn't turn himself in yet
0:43
Now, if you're Donald Trump, and these indictments are working against you politically
0:49
well, what could you do? What could you do to make them work for you, politically
0:55
It's an interesting question, and there's a lot of different ways to do it. Of course, his fundraising increases when he gets indicted
1:01
His poll numbers rise when he gets indicted. A lot of people see it as a political witch hunt, so that does help him
1:07
But there is another way. There's another way to do it, and his former campaign advisor actually laid it out on CNN
1:15
Let's take a look. I think, quite frankly, my guess, and I'm probably, I'm at about 30% chance that this is going to happen
1:24
but I think Donald Trump is going to turn himself in either right before the debate or during the debate
1:29
which will suck all the oxygen out of the room, and then Fox is stuck having to air the debate
1:34
whereas you and other networks are able to say, wait a minute, Donald Trump has actually just turned himself in
1:39
And then there's Tucker Carlson waiting on the steps of the courthouse, able to interview him right there
1:44
The jail is open 24-7, they said. We'll see. Jason Osborne, Ashley Allison, thank you both
1:49
Personally, I think this is a great idea. Turn yourself in, because the Fulton County jail is open 24-7
1:56
Turn yourself in during the Republican debate. Every other network is going to break to the Trump turning himself in
2:05
Fox, obviously, would probably still be beholden to the debate, but you'd have to figure a moderator would be informed that the former president had turned himself in in Fulton County
2:17
would then pose that as a question during the debate, and then everybody would know, and people would start switching channels to see what's going on, if they couldn't find it on Fox
2:25
Maybe they'd tune into Newsmax. Maybe they'd tune into CNN. Maybe they'd tune into One America News
2:30
I don't know. But it would still dominate. Trump's already going to dominate the debate, even if he's not there
2:35
If he ultimately decides not to be there, which it appears he will, this is a genius idea
2:40
And then to have Tucker Carlson interview him on the courthouse steps afterwards
2:44
Come on. It would be a media spectacle. It would draw all the attention away from the Republican debate and right on him
2:52
which is right where he wants it. If you're running for president, all the attention is attention you want
2:57
I want to know what you guys think about this. Is this a wise move, or should he play it cool with the Republican Party
3:03
since he's already way ahead in the polls anyway? Let me know in the comments
3:08
Also, again, please remember to like, share, and subscribe, because that really helps us out
