Hey ladies and gentlemen this is Carmine Sabia for Explain America on YouTube and Joe Biden just
0:05
got some devastating news ahead of 2024. It's a real gift for President Donald Trump or former
0:11
President Donald Trump and of all people CNN delivered it. Before we get started please make
0:17
sure you like, comment, share, and subscribe. Those little things really help us out and they
0:21
help our channel continue to grow. So a new report from the Department of Homeland Security, Biden's
0:27
own department, showed that homelessness has jumped in a snapshot view 12 percent. Now what
0:34
does this mean? Well they're going to explain it on CNN but it ain't good for Biden. Let's take a look
0:41
An annual survey of people who are homeless has reached its highest level on record in the U.S
0:46
The count shows the number of unhoused people jumped by 12 percent compared to last year
0:52
CNN's Camilla Bernal is in Los Angeles with more. Amra Omar, startling but not unexpected. That's what one expert told me about this report and the
1:02
12 percent increase in the number of homeless individuals in the U.S. So according to this
1:08
report it's about 653,000 people that right now are experiencing homelessness in the U.S
1:14
That's an increase of about 70,000 people in comparison to last year's numbers. Now
1:21
the Department of Housing and Urban Development does this count every single year on one day. It's
1:26
what they call a point in time count and it was done in January but the expert that I talked to
1:31
told me that even though that's data from January it does reflect what we're seeing today and
1:37
unfortunately what that data found was the largest number of homeless individuals ever recorded since
1:45
the agency started keeping track in 2007 and the agency also points to the housing market to the
1:52
rising prices in rent and also the end of pandemic aid as some of the possible causes of this
1:59
increase. The expert that I talked to agreed. Here's what he said. Everybody's crisis looks a
2:05
little different but I think the thing that we see in common is that just a lack of affordable
2:11
housing to support them and housing that's just too expensive is the common denominator. And
2:17
unfortunately the report also indicates that people of color are the most impacted by homelessness
2:22
Of the people counted they indicated that four out of ten of them identified as black or African
2:28
American or African and one-third of them identified as Latino or Hispanic. Now Alex
2:35
the expert that I spoke to told me that there is a solution. He believes that the solution here is
2:40
investing money not just in programs that help people find homes but also in programs that
2:45
prevent people from falling into homelessness. Amra, Omar. All right Camilla Bernal thank you very
2:51
much. We're going to take a short break back after this. Now it's really affecting minorities more
2:56
than anyone else and that's a big Biden voting block. Bidenomics is failing. President Biden is
3:02
failing and people know that heading into 2024. This report is absolutely devastating and I think
3:09
again you know these are things that are going to have people voting for Trump. I want to know
3:13
what you guys think. Let me know in the comments. Also please remember to like, share, and subscribe
3:17
It really helps us out. I'm Carmine Sabia for Explain America on YouTube. We love you guys
