0:33
Georgia appeals court decided that Fanny
0:36
Willis was off the case
0:39
disqualified from Prosecuting former
0:42
president Donald Trump now as you may
0:45
remember this is a far-reaching RICO
0:47
case in the state of Georgia that
0:49
accuses Donald Trump of trying to
0:51
subvert the will of the American people
0:54
and keep himself president after Joe
0:56
Biden won the
0:58
presidency so Fanny Willis it was
1:00
revealed had an affair with the lead
1:03
prosecutor lots of interesting stuff
1:05
happening with money there whole bunch
1:08
of stuff that we can't get into right
1:10
here because it would take too much time
1:11
but the point is the judge in the case
1:14
decided that even though there was
1:16
massive conflicts of interest Willis was
1:18
allowed to remain on the case well that
1:21
ended today with the Georgia appeals
1:22
court who took her off the case now I do
1:25
expect that Willis will appeal it and
1:27
she will lose that appeal and this case
1:29
will go to another prosecutor and the
1:31
most likely scenario even from CNN legal
1:33
analysts is that the Case is dead it's
1:36
dead in the water it was dead before it
1:39
was dying and now it's just gone the
1:42
man's president too you going to wait
1:44
four years and it case is over it's over
1:47
the only person that doesn't know it
1:48
right now well maybe she does is Fanny
1:50
Willis I want you to watch this video
1:52
and let me know what you think in the
1:53
comments We Begin this hour with
1:55
breaking news just into CNN the Georgia
1:58
prosecutor leading the states election
2:00
interference case against
2:01
president-elect Donald Trump is now
2:03
disqualified CNN's Caitlyn pance is here
2:06
with more uh Caitlyn what can you tell
2:07
us about this this is just coming in in
2:10
the last several minutes uh this is a
2:12
big development a big development and a
2:14
big development that Donald Trump has
2:16
wanted for a long time that case against
2:18
him in Georgia the the criminal case
2:21
where it's accusing him and several
2:22
others of a racketeering conspiracy
2:24
related to the 2020 election it's
2:26
already been paused now it's not even
2:29
back burner this is a case that will be
2:31
dead in the water because the Georgia
2:33
court of appeals is now saying that
2:35
fonnie Willis the leader of the uh
2:38
prosecution against Donald Trump the
2:41
district attorney in Fulton County
2:43
Georgia she should be disqualified from
2:46
being able to bring that case the
2:48
Georgia court of appeals is saying that
2:50
it's a significant appearance of
2:53
impropriety caused by the conduct of a
2:55
public prosecutor that is Willis how she
2:58
behaved how she was speaking about the
3:00
case about Trump publicly about how she
3:03
was having a relationship with the top
3:05
prosecutor that was concealed in this a
3:07
man named Nathan Wade all of that
3:10
previously the trial level judge had
3:12
looked at and said fonny Willis can stay
3:14
on this case we're not dismissing the
3:16
indictment but the court of appeals is
3:18
now taking another look and saying no
3:20
the trial judge was wrong fonny Willis
3:23
should be disqualified from continuing
3:26
to lead this case it would be a long
3:28
process or it will be a long process to
3:30
replace her which is why I say this case
3:33
is dead in the water now without fonnie
3:35
Willis the person who was leading this
3:37
case against Donald Trump in fton county
3:40
and just to keep tabs on how many cases
3:42
there are against Donald Trump
3:44
criminally the other two in federal
3:46
court January 6th and classified
3:48
documents those are dismissed and then
3:50
the additional case in New York City
3:53
where he was set to be sentenced that
3:55
sentencing is now not happening so as
3:57
Donald Trump enters the presidency each
4:00
of these courts that is handling a
4:02
criminal case is essentially removing
4:05
that issue from him to have to deal with
4:07
in any period of time uh in the near
4:10
future all right kayin pans yeah thanks
4:13
for that added perspective let me bring
