Hey ladies and gentlemen this is Carmine Sabia for Explain America and the
0:04
governor of Georgia Brian Kemp has finally weighed in on the impeachment
0:09
operation against District Attorney Fannie Willis of Fulton County. Before we get started please make sure you like, comment, share, and subscribe. Those
0:19
little things really help us out and they help our channel continue to grow. I
0:22
know I sound like a broken record but you guys on Facebook and YouTube have
0:26
been doing great at it and we appreciate it so much. So as you guys may or may not
0:31
know the state senator of Georgia Mr. Senator Colton he actually went ahead
0:38
and you know proposed impeaching Fannie Willis and he says that the state is in
0:45
a state of emergency basically. What his argument is is that she's abusing her
0:50
powers for political purposes going after a political opponent and even though former President Donald Trump is not directly her political opponent she
1:00
did have a fundraiser against one of the guys who's an unindicted co-conspirator
1:05
in the case and the reason he's an unindicted co-conspirator is she held a
1:10
fundraiser for his opponent. She's obviously a Democrat she obviously not a
1:15
fan of Mr. former President Trump. She had very derogatory things to say about
1:20
him during her campaign for the district attorney's job in Fulton County. So the
1:27
senator sends the letter to the governor and he says here's what we have laid out
1:31
you know and here's what we need. So the governor comes back Brian Kemp. Now you
1:36
know Brian Kemp because he's been at odds with former President Trump. In fact
1:40
President Trump campaigned against him tried to primary him with David Perdue
1:46
Brian Kemp really destroyed Mr. Perdue and then went on to defeat Stacey Abrams
1:53
to maintain the governorship. So he was able to hold on to his governor's job and not be tied to President Trump one of the few Republicans in the nation who
2:01
actually is able to do that so he's not beholden to Trump and there must be some
2:06
animosity still there. Be that as it may he's still a Republican. So he responds
2:11
to the letter with actually through a spokesperson to Fox News and says well
2:16
we haven't seen that the senator has both the three-fifths of the State House
2:21
and the state Senate to proceed with it and have a successful impeachment. Well
2:26
since when is that a need? You go to the special session so you can try to get
2:33
the support for the three-fifths. So it looked to me here like Brian Kemp's just
2:38
trying to stall it and protect Fannie Willis. Congress is eventually going to
2:42
come back in session in Georgia and they're gonna have this debate. It's going to happen. Fannie Willis right now is on borrowed time. The question is can
2:51
you get three-fifths of both State Houses? There are Republicans who are not
2:55
necessarily enamored with former President Donald Trump. There are also Democrats that it would be very hard to get on board for such an impeachment. So
3:04
the question still remains however Kemp has you know hit the brakes on it for
3:09
now indicating he will not call a special session which is disappointing
3:14
but not unexpected. Now I want to know what you guys think about this. Should
3:18
Fannie Willis be impeached and if so for what purpose? What would be the the crime
3:24
she committed? What would be the thing she did that would cause her impeachment
3:28
Do you think Kemp should call the special session or should he just wait
3:31
for the regular session of his Congress to resume? Let me know all that in the
3:36
comments. Also please again remember to like, share, and subscribe because it
3:40
really helps us out. I'm Carmine Sabia. This is Explain America. We love you
3:45
guys. God bless you. Take care everybody
