Guys, I want you to understand what's happening right now. Kamala Harris is in the honeymoon phase of her campaign and
0:24
it's to be expected at this stage of the game. She's rising in the polls, the media is just fawning over her, they're erasing old stories about who she used to be and things she used to say
0:37
They're doing all this. They are trying to prop her up and it's failing
0:43
The latest Rasmussen poll that just came out this morning, and I'm literally getting it right now as I'm breaking it to you
0:51
she's trailing massively in independents and did not improve on Biden's numbers at all
0:57
This is during the honeymoon phase. So Kamala Harris needs a debate with Trump, desperately
1:03
Trump does not need one with her. Now the Harris campaign is coming out and this is the massive
1:08
announcement. Trump said, no I'm not doing the debate until you decide on a candidate for certain
1:12
I want an official nominee before I even talk about debates. Can you blame Trump? Trump made
1:17
an agreement with Joe Biden to debate him on ABC. Those deals, all old deals are off. This is a new
1:25
candidate and Pete Buttigieg, he goes online and he says, oh I've never seen such weakness
1:31
changing your mind about debating. Bro you changed your mind about the candidate
1:36
You don't talk about weakness? You were getting your tail kicked, you panicked and you changed
1:41
your candidate and now you want to call Trump weak? No no no no. We gave you what you wanted
1:45
in the first debate. Trump has agreed to debate. Trump said let's do it on Fox News. We gave you
1:51
everything you wanted for the first debate. Now? Now you've got to give us what we want or we
1:56
won't debate you and here's the thing, we don't have to. Trump don't have to debate you. When
2:02
you're in a position of strength, the other person has to acquiesce to you. You don't have to acquiesce
2:07
to them. I want you to watch how CNN reported on this and let me know what you think in the comments
2:14
Thanks so much for being with us, appreciate it. Sarah? The presidential campaign getting curiouser and curiouser. Donald Trump hitting the pause button
2:21
on a debate with Kamala Harris after originally agreeing to one with President Biden that was
2:26
supposed to be on September 10th. Harris wasted no time accusing Trump of backpedaling, posting on
2:32
ex-quote, what happened to anytime, anyplace? CNN's Elena Shreen is with me now. She certainly
2:39
trolled Donald Trump there with that tweet. Why is Trump failing to commit to this debate with
2:45
Kamala Harris? Look, I mean, there's a number of things happening behind the scenes, but their
2:52
official statement is that there's still so much chaos happening within the Democratic Party. But
2:57
look, as you said, Sarah, they are refusing, Donald Trump and his team, refusing to commit
3:03
to another debate with Kamala Harris. Of course, as you mentioned, they had agreed months ago to
3:09
two debates, the first of which, of course, was on June 27th with CNN and set off that
3:15
distinct chain of events that led to Biden ending his campaign and Harris now becoming the likely
3:21
Democratic nominee. But they also agreed two months ago this September 10th debate with ABC News. Now
3:29
I think we all know we've watched this over the last several days that within 48 hours of Biden
3:34
ending his campaign, Kamala Harris has seen a surge of support from Democratic fundraising
3:39
enthusiasm on the ground, and of course, with high level endorsements from essentially every
3:44
Democratic leader. The last holdout was really the Obamas. And we saw that as Kayla just laid out
3:49
I want to read for you some of what Stephen Chung, one of Donald Trump's top advisers
3:54
said in this statement. He said, quote, Given the political or given the continued political
3:58
chaos surrounding crooked Joe Biden and the Democrat Party, general election debate details
4:03
cannot be finalized until Democrats formally decide on their nominee. It went on to say it
4:09
would be inappropriate to schedule things with Harris because Democrats very well could still
4:14
change their minds. Now, again, they are saying this despite it being
