Hey everybody, welcome to Explain America. I'm your host Carmine Sabia
0:04
A former FBI official is about to get into a ton of trouble with the new Republican Congress
0:10
That's coming right at you. But first, please, as always, make sure you like, you comment
0:16
you subscribe, and you follow us at Explain America on Facebook. And check us out in the
0:23
Explain America lounge. We are accepting new members every day and it's very heartening
0:27
to see you guys joining and getting involved in the conversation with us. Also, if you like what
0:32
we have to say here today, please share the video. That stuff really helps us out. We really
0:37
appreciate it. Former FBI agent Timothy Teobold is in trouble with the top members of the House
0:43
Judiciary Committee that happen to be Republican right now, which is the minority. And the reason
0:49
is because of whistleblower complaints against him that said that he wanted to reclassify and
0:54
did reclassify some cases as domestic extremism when there was little to no evidence really to
1:03
support the reclassification of such cases. Now Republicans have asked him to explain this and
1:09
he has just ignored it because, well, Democrats are in charge. And with Democrats in charge
1:15
they're not going to subpoena him. They don't want to know. But the Republicans do want to know
1:19
And TikTok, Republicans are about to take over the clock. They're about to become the heads of
1:24
the House. So with them becoming the heads, they are now going to have subpoena power over the
1:30
former FBI agent and over a lot of other people. So he may be compelled to come in, which is going
1:36
to be a big deal. Another person who may be compelled to come in is Representative Adam Schiff
1:42
See, the Republicans have a lot of questions for him about investigations into Trump
1:47
investigations into other Republicans. And he said something rather interesting about that today
1:52
When asked if he would comply with a Republican subpoena against him, a hypothetical
1:57
Republican subpoena, because one does not exist yet because they're not in control of the House
2:02
But when asked if he would comply with a hypothetical Republican subpoena against him
2:06
Schiff said he would have to check into the validity of such a request. Now that's interesting
2:12
It's interesting because this is a man who was gung-ho about referring Steve Bannon for criminal
2:20
charges to the Justice Department when he did not comply with a subpoena request from the House
2:26
And he gave an actual reason of executive privilege to not comply. So he didn't just
2:31
ignore it. He gave them a reason why he wasn't complying. Yet still, they pursued and eventually
2:37
got the Justice Department to take the case against Bannon. And the Justice Department
2:43
got Bannon convicted. So it is a serious charge to deny a congressional subpoena. And yet here
2:50
he is talking about doing it. And so it seems that a lot of the rules are for thee and not for me
2:56
is going on with the former FBI agent, with Representative Schiff, with a lot of people
3:02
who are going to find out that the rules are in fact the rules and they will have to obey them
3:07
It's going to be a very interesting new Congress, guys. And it's going to be fun to watch
3:13
Speaking of fun to watch, I hope you guys enjoyed watching us today. Really means a lot to us every time you tune in. So I want to thank you for joining us here at
