Dem Arizona Gov Who Defeated Kari Lake Steps Aside - Republican Takes Over Temp, Issues Statement

the Governor of Arizona has surprisingly stepped aside and a Republican has taken her place

So it was late on Tuesday night the message was sent out that the Governor of Arizona

had stepped aside temporarily and appointed a Republican to take her place even though

there's two Democrats in the line of succession. And I'll explain why

The Secretary of State and the Attorney General, they were also gone and they couldn't take

over for Hobbs. So it fell to the Treasurer, Yee, who took her place as Governor of Arizona at least temporarily

By the time you're watching this video Hobbs will probably be Governor again

Nobody right now as I'm making this video knows why this happened but I can tell you

what Yee said about this in a statement. Arizona Treasurer Kimberly Yee said

I have been notified that I will be serving as Acting Governor beginning later this evening

until mid-morning tomorrow. While I am pleased to step into this role, I will refrain from naming directors to the

13 agencies that currently have vacancies and will not call the Arizona Legislature

into session to confirm them. That being said, I do hope when the Governor returns to Arizona she will promptly name

qualified directors to these important state agencies and remove the legal uncertainty

that exists for all the regulatory actions taken by the agencies. I expect to see a swift resolution to this matter so we can get back to getting the work

done for the Arizona taxpayers. The people of Arizona deserve leaders who follow the rule of law

Now like I said, by the time you're watching this video, Ms. Yee is probably no longer the Governor, it's probably back to Katie Hobbs

We still have not heard why this happened and at a time when the two other Democrats

were not there to take her place. So it fell to the third in the line of succession, which is Kimberly Yee, the Treasurer

But Yee makes some great points about these agencies. Carrie Lake has spoken about these too, where the Governor actually appointed the same person

to head all 13 agencies for the time being, temporarily, which is insane

So this work does have to be done and I know that a lot of you believe that Carrie Lake

is the rightful Governor, should be the rightful Governor I should say, of Arizona

And it was a very close election. It was a very close election with Hobbs and Lake and a lot of people have a lot of questions

and I understand that. But Hobbs is the Governor of the state rightfully

That's the law, that's how it works. And like I said, by the time you're watching this video, she's probably the Governor again

But this was really, really confusing for a lot of people. Nobody really knew what was going on or why it was going on and Yee didn't say anything

in her statement. So again, a very confusing situation in Arizona. If we get more word on this, we will get it to you as soon as possible
