hey ladies and gentlemen this is Carmine
0:01
Tavia 4 explain America and as tragedy
0:04
strikes the state of California the city
0:07
and the area of Los Angeles as people
0:10
cling for their lives as people watch
0:12
their homes and their lives be destroyed
0:14
by a wildfire what is their legislator
0:17
doing it's
0:19
unfathomable what they just announced
0:22
before we get started please make sure

0:41
absolutely free it really helps us
0:44
out what's the number one thing on the
0:46
mind of the California legislature in a
0:49
special session that was brought by
0:51
Governor Gavin Nome well it's not the
0:54
wildfires it's not helping these people
0:56
who've been displaced who've lost
0:58
everything they've worked for their
0:59
whole lives people have lost their lives
1:02
it should be the number one issue they
1:03
shouldn't be thinking about anything
1:05
else but that's not what happened now
1:08
what happened is they called a special
1:09
section of the
1:11
legislature to plan a strategy to go
1:14
after president-elect Donald Trump to
1:17
sue him to protect illegal immigrants
1:20
and other California wacko left-wing
1:22
crazy ideas that they have so they're
1:26
afraid that president-elect Trump is
1:28
going to do exactly what he said he's
1:30
going to do and guess what he is and and
1:34
that's their concern so they call a
1:35
special session of the legislature even
1:37
the California
1:38
media is saying to them here what are
1:41
you doing there's wildfires raging in
1:43
the in the state people are desperate
1:46
they need help and you're worried about
1:48
Donald Trump you
1:51
elitist good for
1:53
nothing hardcore
1:56
Progressive
1:58
miscreant some sometimes I have a word
2:00
in my mind and I got to think of a
2:02
better word that's nicer so I can say it
2:03
on here that was one of those times you
2:07
people are so selfish and so politically
2:10
driven that you're letting the people of
2:13
your own State suffer while you take on
2:16
mean evil Donald Trump ridiculous
2:21
shameful I want you guys to watch this
2:23
video and let me know what you think in
2:25
the comments there have been at least a
2:28
dozen arrests for looting and while
2:30
those fires are still burning out of
2:31
control right now State lawmakers today
2:33
starting their special legislative
2:35
session to prepare for the incoming
2:37
president Donald Trump KC 3's Capital
2:40
correspondent Ashley Zavala was there to
2:42
press lawmakers on whether now is the
2:44
right time for this well here at the
2:46
state capital California lawmakers had
2:48
their first session since those fires
2:50
started in Los Angeles and with all of
2:53
the damage piling up and with a lot of
2:55
questions about the Ripple effects that
2:57
could have on the rest of the state the
2:59
State Assembly prioritized a separate
3:02
special legislative session to help
3:04
California prepare for Donald Trump good
3:07
morning members despite several empty
3:09
seats in the chamber because of the LA
3:11
wildfires the Democratic State Assembly
3:13
gaed into its special legislative
3:15
session to prepare for incoming
3:17
president Donald Trump I'd ask that you
3:19
keep in mind Governor Nome called the
3:21
special session shortly after the
3:23
election as fires raged in Southern
3:25
California state lawmakers still
3:28
prioritize their anti work they
3:31
established a committee and set a
3:32
hearing for the legislation that sets
3:34
aside $25 million to prepare for legal
3:37
battles with the incoming Administration
3:39
you know I'm here to address this
3:41
Democratic assembly speaker Robert Rivas
3:43
didn't want to talk about it afterward
3:45
he would not answer my question is this
3:47
the right time this is a a historic a
3:51
historic Wildfire this is this is a
3:53
historic this is historic event these
3:55
wildfires as I mentioned are going to be
3:57
quite possibly some of the worst um
3:59
wildfire and disasters in
4:02
state while this Wildfire is happening
4:05
and while people are trying to
4:06
understand what's going on and are
4:07
worried about disaster relief worried
4:10
about the ability to get homeowners
4:11
insurance your chamber gabbled into a
4:13
special legislative session to prepare
4:15
for Donald Trump in a way that you are
4:17
already able to do without a special
4:19
legislative session so again is now the
4:21
right time for that so certainly our
4:23
Focus right now as Speaker Ashley um uh
4:27
at this moment my colleagues and I we
4:28
are acting with great urgency great
4:30
urgency to ensure that we're providing
4:32
much needed relief um uh to angelinos to
4:34
ensure that that that that we uh you
4:37
know understand what it's going to take
4:39
for that for for for for this region to
4:41
recover Republicans are now calling for
4:43
a special legislative session on
4:44
wildfires we should actually end the
4:46
special session we have right now and
4:49
have a new special session completely
4:51
focused on wildfire and insurance
4:54
because uh I think everybody you know
4:57
rightfully anticipates this is going to
4:58
cause a a huge crisis speaker Rivas was
5:01
asked if he would support a wildfire
