Hey ladies and gentlemen this is Carmine Sabia for Explain America and Hunter Biden's daughter Naomi, well she's had to testify in the trial involving her dad
0:10
Before we get started please make sure you like, comment, share and subscribe. Those little things really help us out and they help our channel continue to grow
0:20
Naomi Biden tried to give testimony that helped her dad, originally, tried to
0:26
And she said that she didn't see drug paraphernalia in his car, she said the car wasn't a disaster like had been described
0:34
But then, then a text message exchange between her and her dad, a very unusual, strange text message exchange
0:42
That came just days after he purchased the firearm in question here and allegedly lied on the form saying he was not a drug addict
0:52
So, this text message where she says I'm sorry dad and it gets really uncomfortable
1:00
This text message exchange tells a lot I think and I'm sad for it, I'm sad
1:06
Listen, I've known drug users, I've had family members who were addicted to drugs
1:11
I don't sit and wag my finger and judge anybody for that
1:15
I'm very sad that this happened to Hunter Biden. I pray that he has found recovery and that he's doing well
1:22
And, you know, I don't want to see him tortured for this for the rest of his life
1:26
I don't, that's not the kind of person I am. You make mistakes in life, you recover from those mistakes and you move on
1:32
And I pray that's what he has done and continues to do. This case, however, is starting to look a lot like a guilty verdict could be coming
1:40
I want you to take a listen to this and read about the text message exchange and let me know what you think in the comments
1:47
Alana Austin joins us now with more from the courthouse in Wilmington, Delaware
1:51
Alana, what's the latest? Hi, good afternoon Katrina and Bob. And just moments ago, the court adjourned
1:59
They have called off the trial for the rest of the week
2:03
The jurors have been sent home. And the defense team also announced that those other witnesses from the Biden family that they intended to call to the stand
2:11
well, they will not be calling them. Now they have until Monday to decide whether Hunter Biden himself, the defendant, of course, in this case, will take the stand
2:20
And meantime, Judge Mary Ellen Noriega, she is considering motions from the defense team of whether to toss the charges
2:27
They are citing the Second Amendment here, saying that this is unconstitutional to proceed with the prosecution
2:34
I was inside the courtroom for part of Naomi's testimony, and she was talking about the October 2018 timeline
2:41
She said she thought her dad seemed to be doing well. She and her now husband, Peter, visited him in rehab
2:49
But the prosecutor, Leo Wise, honed on text during mid-October. And according to their records, Hunter was not visiting her for days while staying in New York City
2:59
And she messaged him, according to these records, this, quote, I'm really sorry, Dad, I can't take this
3:05
I just miss you so much. I want to hang out with you
3:09
And Hunter apparently responded, I'm sorry, I've been so unreachable, it's unfair to you
3:14
So we had expected that the president's brother, James Biden, could have testified today
3:20
He was at court. He was holding hands with his wife, Sarah, as they went into the courtroom
3:25
And then also the president's other sibling, Valerie Biden-Owens, she was at court once again, too, showing moral support for Hunter
3:33
Now, all of this coming after the prosecution arrested their case earlier today
3:38
It concluded four days of presenting text messages, photographs, and testimony from exes, showing the depth of Hunter's past addiction
3:47
Jurors paid very close attention to the testimony of former girlfriend, Zoe Keston, who went on to testify
