Hey ladies and gentlemen, this is Carmine Sabia for Explain America, and we have
0:05
massive news coming from the camp of Tucker Carlson as far as what his next steps are
0:11
And folks, they're a doozy, and they involve the 2024 presidential race
0:16
Before we get started, please make sure you like, you comment, you share, and you subscribe
0:21
Those little things, they really help us out so we can keep bringing you the news every day
0:26
absolutely free, three times a day, to give you the news that you've come to love, trust
0:31
and expect from us. Folks, Tucker Carlson, not only is he taking it to the Republican Party
0:38
not only is he taking matters into his own hands, but he's going to stick it to Fox News
0:44
in the process if the reports out of the Washington Post are to be believed. Apparently
0:50
Tucker Carlson has met with former President Donald Trump, and he's pitched him an idea
0:56
that the former president really likes. Fox News will be hosting the first debate
1:01
of the primary season, or so they think. But Tucker Carlson is coming to the rescue and saying
1:08
hey look, I'll host the first debate of the primary season. I'll be the moderator. I'll get
1:14
Trump and all the other people here, and we'll have a debate. And the reason for it
1:19
is more than even twofold. Number one, it keeps Tucker Carlson's name in the news
1:26
It makes him relevant. He gives him the position almost of kingmaker in the Republican Party
1:31
Keeping his sphere of influence is so important. You see when Bill O'Reilly left. You see when
1:36
Megyn Kelly left. They kept, they made a lot of money, and they kept the money, you know
1:41
and all that stuff that came with it. But they lost that influence. They lost that power. And
1:46
Tucker, I think he's a true believer like Megyn Kelly said. He's a true believer. He wants to
1:51
influence the country. He wants to influence the party. He wants to help shape the direction that
1:57
we're going in as a nation and as conservatives. I respect that, and I think that Tucker
2:04
you know, he's the right guy for that kind of job. He's a guy that we can trust, and that's
2:08
in a business that has become so jaded and so about, you know, money and doing what your
2:14
corporate sponsors want. Something like Tucker is a once-in-a-lifetime thing. And so I think
2:21
you know, he's the right guy for the job because he's a truth teller. That's the first thing
2:27
The second thing is he sticks it to Fox News. Fox News has the first debate, but Trump doesn't want
2:33
to do the Fox News debate. Trump has started to boycott the Fox News debate. Well, if he does the
2:39
Tucker debate and not the Fox News debate, guess where all the eyes are going to be
2:45
Guess where all the eyes are going to be? They're going to be on Tucker Carlson. Now, this puts him in a unique position because he'd have to forfeit money that's on the table with
2:53
Fox News in order to do this. Can he get out of the contract? Can he say, look, they're not using me
2:58
I want out of my contract. I want to do things on my own. He probably can, but that's for lawyers
3:04
and courts to determine. What Fox is trying to do, which is bench him and pay him, is an attempt to
3:10
destroy him and destroy his career, which seems totally unnecessary. If he gets out of the
3:14
contract, it allows him to be an influencer. So he'll make less money in the short term
3:19
but more money probably in the long term. And then he could do his own thing. He's got $100
3:24
million contract waiting for him from Valuetainment and Patrick Bet-David. He's got
3:29
offers waiting from Newsmax and One America News, although the Newsmax one is significantly more
3:33
money. Tucker Carlson can write his own check right now, but if Fox keeps him on the sidelines
3:39
long enough, if they let his influence wane, so does his ability to monetize his value and his
3:45
audience. So this is a smart move for Tucker in so many different ways. Being a prominent voice
3:52
in the 2024 Republican primary without having to be a candidate himself, well, that might just be
3:57
the smartest thing he's ever done. Folks, again, my name is Carmine Sabia. This is Explain America
