Hey ladies and gentlemen, this is Carmine Sabia for Explain America, and wow, President Trump
0:06
just crushed President Biden massively, and it is glorious. Before we get started, please make sure
0:14
you like, comment, share, and subscribe. Those little things really help us out, and they help
0:18
our channel continue to grow. Last week, President Joe Biden, flanked by former Presidents Bill
0:26
Clinton and Obama, had a star-studded gala. Lin-Manuel Miranda was there, celebrities
0:32
and they raked in over 26 million dollars in fundraising. It was a record. It was a record
0:39
until last night. Last night, President Trump held his fundraiser in Palm Beach, Florida
0:46
and he raised over 50 million dollars, according to his campaign. Almost doubling what Biden did
0:55
a week before, and setting a new all-time record. Absolutely crushing. Now, Trump is very excited
1:03
about this, obviously, and he needs to close the gap in fundraising with Biden. Biden's way ahead
1:08
in fundraising. Trump needed this. He needs the big money donors. He needs you guys, too. He needs
1:14
all the donors he can get, small money donors, big money donors, all of us, to chip in and help him
1:20
make America great again. I want you to hear what he said in celebration of this great event
1:26
and then let me know what you think in the comments. Are you going to be donating? Let me know
1:31
Please remember to like, comment, share, and subscribe. I'm Carmine Sabia for Explain America
1:36
We love you guys. God bless you. Take care, everybody. That's nearly double the amount President Biden raised at his New York City event alongside
1:56
President Obama and Clinton over a week ago. I think it might be the greatest number ever raised
2:03
26 was the record. Now this is, right? Madeline Rivera joins us with more from Washington. Hey
2:09
Madeline. Hey, guys. Yeah, you're right, Rachel. The Trump campaign says this is the largest
2:13
fundraising haul in history for a Republican or Democrat. A spokesperson for his team saying
2:19
it took three Democrat presidents to raise $25 million and one president to raise over $50
2:25
million, Donald J. Trump. Here's Trump speaking upon arriving at the fundraiser in Palm Beach
2:32
Thank you very much. It's a great honor to be here. It's going to be a very spectacular
2:37
evening and people are just wanting change. Rich people want it, poor people want it. Everybody
2:42
wants change. Our country is really doing poorly. We're a laughing stock all over the world and
2:48
we're going to get that change very quickly. The Trump team still has to catch up to the
2:53
Biden campaign's war chest. The former president and the Republican National Committee raised about
2:58
$66 million in March with $93 million in cash on hand. The Biden campaign says it raised $90
3:06
million in the same time period with $192 million in cash on hand. The Biden team says they are
3:13
fired up by their numbers and are looking to grow their umbrella by courting Nikki Haley backers
3:19
I can tell you I am personally on the phone with Haley supporters every single day. In many ways
3:25
this is a marathon, not a sprint. We've got a lot of work to do. Obviously, our opponent
3:30
the other side, has told them that they do not have a home on their campaign. Well
3:35
we look straight into the eye of Republicans and Haley donors and say you do have a home here
3:40
Trump is expected to hold another high dollar fundraiser in Atlanta this week. Guys, back to you
3:45
That was my joke. All right. Thank you so much. You got it. Of course. We were actually just
3:50
talking towards the end of Madeline's report
