Hey ladies and gentlemen, this is Carmine Sabia for Explain America and former president Donald Trump has just dropped a bomb on New York prosecutors folks and it's a doozy
0:12
They were not expecting this. Before we get started, please make sure you like, you comment, you share and you subscribe
0:19
Those little things take you a couple seconds, but they really help us out and we do appreciate it so very much
0:25
Folks, Trump was speaking in Ireland to a group of reporters when he gave New York prosecutors and the judge in this particular case news they probably didn't want to hear
0:37
The former president says he's headed back to New York and he's headed back because he's going to confront his accuser, E. Jean Carroll, the woman who claims Trump raped her decades ago, but has come out about it only during his presidency and is now suing him for defamation for denying it
0:58
Which essentially means she has to prove he's lying, which essentially means she has to prove the rape, which is going to be really, really difficult to do
1:06
That being said, Trump is furious. He's livid and he told reporters all about it when they questioned him in Ireland
1:14
I have to leave Ireland and I have to leave Scotland. We have great properties. I have to leave early. I don't have to, but I choose to
1:22
Will you attend the trial, Mr. President? I'll probably attend. It's a disgrace that it's allowed to happen. It's called false accusations against a rich guy or, in my case, against a famous, rich and political person that's leading the polls by 40 points
1:40
And I have to go back for a woman that made a false accusation about me. And I have a judge who's extremely hostile. And I'm going to go back and I'm going to confront this with this woman is a disgrace and it shouldn't be allowed to happen in our country
1:55
That's totally false. It was fake. She's a fake. She wrote in a book. She's a Democrat. We have a rough judge. We have a judge that doesn't like me much, appointed by Bill Clinton
2:07
And he's a he's a guy that doesn't like me much. He's, I guess, not allowing the coat that they wanted to put into evidence
2:15
Once we said, yes, put it into evidence, they said, oh, we don't want to do that. It's a disgrace, but I have to do it. That's part of
2:23
Now, we can't take sides in the case and we can't say who's guilty, who's innocent. We haven't seen the evidence and we don't know those things legally
2:30
We can't take a side. That being said, me personally, Carmine Sabia, I believe that this is iffy at best
2:40
I've seen parts of E. Jean Carroll's book and, you know, Trump is not the only rich and powerful man she accuses of raping her, which gives me some pause
2:50
I have to admit it gives me some pause. It also gives me pause the length of time she waited to bring these accusations
2:57
Now, none of that means that what she's saying is not true. And I do think that, you know, it is hard for a woman to come forward at the time, especially if the man is rich and powerful
3:07
And I'd like to at least extend some grace that way. You know, maybe it was a sexual encounter that he felt was consensual and she didn't
3:17
And who knows? I mean, who knows what happens? I really can't even begin to opine on this case
3:23
I want to say that I believe former President Donald Trump lock, stock and barrel
3:29
I don't want to disparage Miss Carroll, but just suffice it to say that I believe President Trump
3:34
And I do think that he has a right to confront his accuser. That's in the law
3:38
And so I think it's a good thing that he's going to come back to New York. I think it's a good thing that he's in a confront her
3:43
And I think it's a good thing he's in a confront the judge who appears to have some kind of issue with him that we're going to find out about
3:50
Let them get face to face and hash this out. Folks, again, I'm Carmine Sabia. This is Explain America
